Huh. Never thought to go asking what people thought about season six before. I guess my impression of it is widely shared enough for it to have a cute nickname? I wanna hang out with Marcie.
(i mean except for once more with feeling, that pretty much made up for the whole thing)
What about “Tabula Rasa”? Sure, the beginning and ending were pretty depressing, but everything in between was hilarious. I’m just saying, “Randy Giles”.
And then there was “Normal Again”. Brilliant, albeit more than a little heartbreaking.
Having a VTOL craft’s rotors wrapped around you sounds painful… and possibly requiring either extremely heavy modifications of the airframe or the presence of mind-shattering noneuclidean geometries
From a purely narrative perspective I think Season Six was actually quite good. Everything that happened had its part in the plan, and many of the developments were quite clever.
I think it gets a worse rap than it deserves because it is, easily, the most painful season to watch.
Being painful to watch is pretty much the defining metric of ‘bad entertainment’; because it’s basically doing the exact opposite of its core purpose at that point.
That’s not quite true, which is why a typical romantic comedy is not unambiguously superior to Schindler’s List.
Good art and entertainment should engage its audience, but this engagement can take many different forms and any number of different purposes, from sharing certain emotions and ideas, to practicing specific skills, to simple distraction.

Hijacking comment to suggest that anyone who hasn’t watched Buffy yet and wants to not scroll down.

Nick: “Oh Tip! Let me wrap my rotors around you!”
Tip: “Oh Nick! Our forbiddon love was meant to be!” *Snogs airframe*
Nick *Lowers rear access ramp*

I can’t remember… but was season six of Buffy the one where she comes back from the dead? It slips the mind, y’know?
but… no… you can’t… Season six was the best… yellow crayon… YELLOW CRAYON!!!
The Evil Willow arc kind of makes up for the rest of the season being so lacklustre.
Season six had the BEST. LINE. EVER.
“Bored now.”
