I don’t want to sound racist against tigers or anything, but the longer this guy speaks, the more he sounds to me like Shere Khan. We can hope that he’s not so deadly as he is smooth, but that would likely be because he chooses not to be, not because he is unable to be. All the transgenics we’ve seen so far seem to have pretty decent physical boosts, and with this guy, the baseline is a damn tiger!
I’m surprised no one noticed the Little Black Sambo reference (in either form, the original one that’s racist against Indians or the later one that’s racist against POC).
One of the books in that series contained a scene wherein a child escaped being eaten by a tiger by climbing a tree. The tiger ran around the tree repeatedly until it turned into ghee, which as we all know is clarified butter. So the reference is in the first panel, “we turn right to butter”.

When was that?
Yes, when was that? Are you referring to Phil’s appearance/behavior?

I loved that book as a kid.
Unfortunately, it got lost in one of our moves.
