Dada Horse by Mark V
Shaenon: Mark V of Electric Puppet Theatre writes:
On the occaision of Marcel Duchamp’s natal day (4pm on the first Tuesday
of every month), we are pleased to present you with this fan art (not filled with cherry pits or gravel).
I am very pleased to receive this Dada-themed art from a truly great human, humanoid, bioelectronic entity, funky dude, disco dancer, and student of Daniel Pinkwater’s Young Adult Novel. I think my favorite part is that Tip kind of looks like Gertrude Stein.
Channing: Intentional directed absurdism has never been more adorable! Thanks, Mark V. But I have to ask — “Mark five” of what?
Love the tie on Nick
Unless I’m missing part of the joke, that seems more like a riff on Magritte’s unique brand of realist surrealism. Unless intentionally misidentifying it is what makes it Dadaist. Which is certainly a possibility.
