      Surgical staples.
      The Romans used them, and it took “modern medicine” over two centuries to figure out that they’re better than stitches.

        I don’t think the fastening method is the problem. Dead flesh only has so much strength, and that doesn’t last long. She’s got to be replacing limbs a lot more often than what we see .
