Gavotte Strip by Sleepy John
Shaenon: Thank you, Sleepy John. Thank you. That’s really all I can say.
Channing: All commentary on the pun aside, let’s hear it for Sleepy John, for coming up with a coherent multi-panel guest strip! Most of our guest art comes in the form of lovely pin-ups and still shots, so it’s interesting to see this quarter explored a little. Eventually, we need to get enough of these going so that we can stop doing the comic for weeks on end by running “guest months”. That would be great.
Yay for puns!
Yay for bees!
I was in an induced coma for 58 days with heavy anti-psychotic chemical support, and one of the lengthy dream sequences involved an experimental medical facility run by a hive.
They studied my condition by thoroughly licking me and all my secretions. Then they carried out an analysis and developed healing substances that were delivered gastically via a nasal tube.
The hive corresponded with the human handlers via a Commodore 64 link. The building was in a farady cage and the technology links were crippled to limit hive access to the outside world and moderne tech.
Lots of the electronic and medical stuff was just way above me. But they obviously didnt trust my hive as much as these guys trust Gavotte. Interesting stuff about hives in Gödel Escher Bach, an Eternal Golden Braid.
Maybe you could train/teach a hive to fill in/carry on skin horse? Kidding/not kidding. Nobody would ever have to know..
