You know what would be hilarious? He goes on with his life, grows up, gets a great job, meets someone, gets married, raises a family, eventually forgets all about this little adventure, lives to a ripe old age, and then one day he dies peacefully in his sleep, content with having lived a happy and prosperous life.
… and then respawns
Does thinking that would be hilarious make me a bad person?
… I just… I just said that a few pages ago. o_0;
Slight differences in wording, but exact same sentiment… except for the last bit. I’m not concerned about being “a bad person”.
But SotiCoto’s comment here implies that he thinks he said it first. Considering how extremely similar the comments are, it’s possible – likely, in fact – that SotiCoto had read BrokenEye’s comment at some point during the seven month span before he wrote his own, whether he consciously remembers it or not.
Given the speed that they apparently went through the archive – every single one of their posts AFAIK was on the morning of August 20, 2014 – some details might have become blurry.
There’s at least one Harry Potter fic that ends like that. (Actually two, I think, but in one of them it comes as no surprise). I enjoy when that sort of thing happens… to people who aren’t me, at least. (If it happened to me, I would likely be bored for my first couple of lives, maybe off myself in as interesting ways as possible, but then spend the next few dozen lives or more gaming the system like an over-played video game.)
Looked at the right way, and with a sufficiently early respawn point, it could actually be very liberating. Spend a life as a balloonist, a politician, a sponge painter, a bum… Though even that level of variety would eventually get extremely tedious.
While I do mourn the loss of the first set of comments, I will say it’s fun to read new reactions to the material. It’s like I respawned into a differing timeline.

Check the dates, SotiCoto. BrokenEye beat you to it, chronologically.
But SotiCoto said it as he was going through the archive. It’s truly the same idea independently thought.

That’s when you decide to use your foreknowledge to TAKE OVER THE WORLD! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
That might be fun a few times…
What do you mean, “Meets someone? ” He has someone right there who he’S already demonstrated that he won’t live without.
Yes. Yes, it would.
I’m trying to figure out if that would be awesome, or the worst fate ever.

Funny, I don’t remember writing that.
She survived! Yay!
Oh no; I know that laugh. He’s gone mad! MAD!!!
