My own personal version was after I fell 50 feet and broke half the bones in my body. One of the nurses in the trauma unit asked what happened, and I said “bad day at the office.”
My right humerus is held together with two metal plates. Yes, it has a permanent break. Long story. The end of my left radius (the part of the smaller of the two bones in the forearm that’s supposed to attach to the elbow) is shattered. They never repaired it because that was the arm I was using for everything while I was in the hospital, since my right arm was in a splint the entire time. They could have fixed it, but then both arms would have been immobilized, which would have meant putting the catheter back in so I could pee, and I wasn’t too thrilled about that prospect.
So yes, I have the distinction of being one of very few people in the world with two permanently broken arms (I don’t actually know how many there are – I might even be the only one, but I like to think I’m not alone). I can function – I just have to be more cautious than the average joe.
I find Nick’s comment intriguing. I expect he’s referring to the time we never saw when he was alone, at the mercy of Mr. Green (whom he had considered a mensch), dismantled, callously scavenged for parts (at least the comfy seats) and the last terrifying seconds as he watched his brain being disconnected from life support…
I’m kind of curious why they’re keeping Baron’s body connected to the server. Granted, it allows the two versions of Aimee to stay synced, but if the connection were unexpectedly severed, it could prove catastrophic.
“Look, sorry about this. It’s not the best time to be out and about. Most of the world really isn’t like this. Granted, I haven’t visited any of those places in the last seven years or so, but I understand that they’re really beautiful and peaceful.”
You pick a fine time to start tasting reality, Aimee.
“I… had a bad day.”
Understatement of the Year Award nominee.

Well at least your humerus still intact!
They did enjoy my sense of humour.
(Although my humerus is, oddly enough, permanently broken)
I didn’t know that was a thing that could happen.
What, both of them?

Well, if they ever make another film version of “A Farewell To Arms” ,,,
Wow. Just…wow.
@Ed: Can I star as myself? I’ve always wanted to be in a movie!
+Respect+
There’s just one thing that has to be done, now that Aimee is in Baron Mistycorn’s body.
Makeover!
Shave the goatee!
Just braid it, and add some pink sparkly ribbons or barrette clips.
Definitely keep the goatee. Given that he’s a robot, it probably won’t grow back.

“A bad day” indeed…

I suspect the Baron lacks the capacity to timeshare with Aimee and WiFi wouldn’t have enough bandwidth to support Aimee’s use of the Crown.

“I’ve seen pictures. They’re really quite pretty.”
