Y’know what, Nick? There is NOTHING hotter than a man who truly appreciates what he has. (Okay, except maybe for the woman who has *him.* That’s pretty damn hot too.)
Now that is an interesting take. Does make a lot of sense actually.
And all of the over-the-top “bro” stuff is him dealing with his emotional problems arising from his complicated perception linking the women he loves with a man, and thus making him possibly slightly gay, which absolutely clashes with his self-image.
Do Mad Scientists count as super geniuses though? They use some form of Mojo to bend the laws of science, instead of truly understanding how things work.
Conversely, one doesn’t have to be a super genius to be a Mad scientist. Which is why a lot of Mad scientists end up killing themselves, or creating something hideous that in turn kills them.
Bit harsh coming from Nick, seeing as he tends to be a dick to everyone too…
Hoping the conclusion includes an explanation as to why anybody would want to date him, let alone an intelligent and good looking person….
That explanation was given years ago. Nick was willing to die rather than to compromise his principles. Virginia described him as “the bravest man I know”.
And Baron is getting worse – at least for the moment. I’d be more worried if Nick didn’t notice, since he’s the closest thing to a friend that Baron has.
True. And I also get a vibe that, now that Nick is in a romantic relationship, Baron is lashing out because he feels betrayed by, and simultaneously feels afraid of losing, the one person he’s realistically been able to think of as a friend in who knows how long.
Oh no. Nick’s just been in a simulation since… real early times, isn’t he? That’s gonna be a heartbreaking reveal, but things are just going TOO well for him.
Metafictionally, of course he has, and so have all the characters. The simulation is called “being fictional” and the characters are running, in an intermittent and out-of-order fashion, inside Shaenon’s head. It’s a very unusual story that has the characters realising this is the case though, let alone doing something about it (though a good few of them have been written).
Well, there’s the “typewriter in the sky” theory, that, in any fictional universe, the most hated person, the enemy of all that is good and holy, is the writer, who created the situation and put these characters in it.
Then there’s Jasper Fforde’s “Thursday Next” series [1], where characters in books often are aware they are fictional, but don’t mind so much: for one thing, they can sometimes leave for the real world, and vice versa for normal humans.
Now I want a “Black Ops Softball” tee.
Me too! I live near a large USAF base; please, please sell these! 😀
He’s literally a big bad black ops helicopter! He doesn’t do discrete! (though hopefully he does do stealth)
He’s a brain in a jar simultaneously operating his helicopter and drone bodies: he does discrete instances constantly.
I think Nick’s brain is in his meat. (Geez, that sounds kinkier than I thought it would.)
Since when does Nick have meat? Did I miss something?
Apparently you did. He refers to his humanoid body as his “meat peripheral”. And yes, that’s where his brain is currently housed.
Tigerlily grew a replacement body to house Nick’s brain that Gin had rescued from Anasigma’s discarded brains tip.
it’s in a jar made of bone

I used to tell people, “When I die, I want to come back as me.” Now I’m not so sure…
When Zombie, Helicopter, and Swarm of Bees are suddenly options, i don’t think anyone’s sure
Baron is in love with Aimee, Nick’s female clone. If anything, he’s envious of Ginny.
Proof : she’s the one he’s been insulting the entire time.
Now that is an interesting take. Does make a lot of sense actually.

I don’t know about “the hottest supergenius on Earth,” but she’s right up there.
Well, Nick hasn’t met Lupin “Wolf” Madblood, has he?
Hadn’t thought of him (I don’t swing that way). But there’s Helen Narbon, and Tigerlily Jones…I always thought Imogene Frog was cute…
How old is Helen and Dave’s daughter at this point? She might be too young at this point in the timeline but ummm, time travel.
Do Mad Scientists count as super geniuses though? They use some form of Mojo to bend the laws of science, instead of truly understanding how things work.
Well, (1) I’ve never been convinced Dr. Lee *isn’t* a mad scientist, and (2) a lot of them seem like the bright geeks one sees at MENSA meetings.
Conversely, one doesn’t have to be a super genius to be a Mad scientist. Which is why a lot of Mad scientists end up killing themselves, or creating something hideous that in turn kills them.
Honestly, I was thinking more Artie actually. But if we want to confine it to female supergeniuses, I think I agree with him.
But then, I don’t guess I really count mad scientists as supergeniuses

*Deep breath.*
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So cute…. All I lack is a large doe-eyed furry kitten emoji.

In his own way, Nick can be very romantic and eloquent.
Ginny blush number not sure, but at least #32.
I’m gonna need links. For… reasons. *Sweats.*
Ginny blushes #36. See #35 for 31-34 (which survived moderation), and #30 for 1-29.
He could be discreet about it. But he won’t.
