Tried searching “Bryant IV,” “I. V. Bryant,” “I. Bryant,” and assorted other permutations. (Was thinking it might be from a children’s book or somesuch.) Nothing suggested anything to do with this. Further information required for further search.
I’m reminded of the OZ books, where Dorothy had to wear green glasses in the emerald city.
So, I think something is being hidden her, But,
Last we saw of Ira, he was putting on a military uniform, so I don’t think that is him.
It’ll end up being the same gag, with H.R. Bryant IV just trying to make himself seem more magnificent than he actually is by getting everyone to wear the special goggles.
Would’a thought there’d be numerous complaints about Tip, about various things, and this HR fiend would know he’s not Chris (about whom there must be a few complaints, too.)
AnaSigma, AG-I, Skin Horse, and The Institute are all under the same umbrella, and all ultimately overseen by Mr. Green. So yes, they are all part of the same shadow government.
Maybe those were just peons in the HR department, and Bryant here is the top dog. …or cat, whatever. After all, they referred to that floor as “the HR offices” – plural.
Oz vibes, again. Dorothy was given glasses so that she wouldn’t be “blinded” by the “glare” of the Emerald City, only to learn later that those glasses were what turned everything green.
True, but in this case, Tip can see that there is indeed a glare surrounding the person in the chair. Whether it’s a trick or not remains to be seen (no pun intended).
Door signs are Mandatory. Useful placement, not so much… Can’t read the desk label, but does not appear to be Bryant. One hopes that I isn’t for Ira…
the desk name plate reads “Bryant IV” to me
It reads “I. Bryant”, to me, what could be punny since bryant pronounced [brijɑ̃] is homophone to brillant (brilliant or glowing)?
oh I get it now, the desk name plate, and not the desk door name plate.
Yeah, could be a IV, or a IJ.
He is the only one outside HR, the rest of the world is inside it.

They have to be hung inside the door, because their true identity is secret to those not on the inside.
Makes finding the office a bit of a pain, but that’s HR for ya.
And you thought Catbert was bad.
… Tip is getting free UV googles. And hasn’t lost the rights to any internal organ that we know yet.
Catbert is still way worse.
Please don’t make this a competition. Catbert’s not into loosing…

Also, we already had that allegory as a storyline way, way, way, way, WAY earlier.
Her, here, don’t you wwish you could update your posts?
Yep, spell check can’t catch it if the misspelling is a real word.

“I Bryant” is an anagram of “B TYRANI”
because the people in HR will always be tyrants
about irrational rules.
Apparently Mr. Bryant’s shining countenance is too brilliant for a mere mortal to behold without assistance. Maybe he’s a sapient solar eclipse?
However it goes, this will be one of Tip’s harder conquests. At least one would hope it would be.
“To look upon the face of Shadow Government HR would end you,” so normal HR branch of the normal evils of Human Resources. Gotcha!
I think I’ve been confused. I thought Anasigma was a non-government corporation, are they actually another part of Shadow Government like Skin Horse?
AnaSigma, AG-I, Skin Horse, and The Institute are all under the same umbrella, and all ultimately overseen by Mr. Green. So yes, they are all part of the same shadow government.
Contracted out to Anasigma by the Shadow Government.
Most shadow governments are only 20-40% government, with the remainder being cults, secret societies, and corporations.
Y’know, we saw a couple of the HR people in the Maragda Building during the “What Big Teeth” sequence. Neither of those two are this person.
That was a while ago. Maybe they messed up their shoe-tying in the meantime.

He tells “Doctor Sanders” be at ease. Don’t look at his face, if you please. In orientation, this eradication could be handled with bureaucratese.

oh, “Cure” Glasses? He or she does look like a Robert Smith to me…
“Dr. Sanders” appears to be garbed in what to my eye seems more masculine attire than usual. A Keith Partridge homage?
I’d also expect Dr. Sanders to be fascinated by the ultraviolet umbra emanating from Mr. Bryant!
Finally, don’t bees see in the UV range? Could Bryant be a natural enemy of Gavotte?
Also in the RPG Paranoïa, you couldn’t access to any UV information because it’d be treason to look at it.
Does look like it. Though Shirley and Laurie wore pants, too.
Also…we’ve referred to *Mr.* Bryant, but I’m not certain. Tip does say “sir,” and he is closer to the action than we are. But he could be wrong.
Tip? Wrong? About GENDER??
Break out the therapy puppets!
