(Pavane’s evil, not Tip’s. “A glitch in the Matrix” or whatever. “You must have questions” is always a pre-reveal line, but I think it works best with villains.)
Inertial compensator is one explanation. Another is that they “boarded” by teleporter and portal, and where they currently are has nothing to do with the saucer.
I’m the other side, I could *only* see this as happening simultaneously and not as Tip got back on. It’s a huge insight to see that Unity’s comment could be seen as “How is Tip back on when you shook him off earlier” instead of (what was to me the natural interpretation) that Unity just watched him being shook off and wondering why the heck would you do that”
There’s always the possibility that Tip turns out to be something other than a normal human and had to realize himself before he could come aboard. It’s remote, but it is possible.
How does he do that?
Who is number one?
How many axes would an axolotl lotl if an axolotl could lotl axes?
What rhymes with KPWNG?
Which is the cutest, turtles or pythons?
Hmm! Hmm! Yeah! Oh! Wilkin! Hmm!
Hang on out there Wilkin!
Give a nail-grip tight!
Don’t be afraid, Wilkin!
You know they can’t stop to take you, oh my god
You they can’t stop to take you.
Now that you’ve been ditched by mistress funky bender.
You would try hard to reach that big UFO ascender.
Oh, you’ve made this mighty blunder, done this mighty strike.
At some point you should decide to meet with the hard ground right.
Hang on out there, Wilkin, hang on out there, Tip!
You’re gonna bounce so hard than you ever thought possible!
You have no fear going, Tip Wilkin, to that world.
You know they can’t stop to take you.
But you know true love and for your girl
Hmm! So now you’ve grabbed the saucer you humans dreamed of.
Oh, we’re too far gone, Wilkin, truly, far above.
Hang on out there Wilkin, please don’t lose it now.
Please don’t now slip from this ship.
Don’t let go, Wilkin, don’t let go, Dennis, oh, not now!
Wilkin don’t you lose it, don’t you dare!
Hold, Wilkin, hold it on, Wilkin, oh, right there, don’t you lose it, some still care!
Hang on out there, Wilkin, hang on out there, Tip!
You’re gonna bounce so hard than you ever thought possible.
Hang on out there, Wilkin,
Hang on out there, Wilkin, hang on out there, Wilkin!
Please on’t drop it now, drop it now,
Please don’t lose grip from this ship.
This ship to ground, this ship to ground…
—from “Hang On In There, Baby,” written and performed by Johnny Bristol.
I have earlier hypothesized that this setting’s Heaven and Hell were created by a powerful time traveling mad scientist. I would not be surprised to learn that Lovetron is entirely the creation of Tigerlily Jones.
I was thinking it was the product of the further research of Mssrs. Calvin and Hobbes. Their designs always seemed to have a similar auditory component.
The holoscreen picture of Tip has him hanging for life from the ship. When the screen went “KPWING,” he’s shook off with a fling. For him, just a pretty short trip.
I didn’t realise this the other week, but it occurs to me that having a major protagonist falling dramatically as the story nears its climax is something of a Garrity trope.
Mojo or evil reveal?
(Pavane’s evil, not Tip’s. “A glitch in the Matrix” or whatever. “You must have questions” is always a pre-reveal line, but I think it works best with villains.)
I wouldn’t rule out Tip being evil, those are some mean dresses he wears!
Oh, Tip is evil. He doesn’t even try to deny it.

Progress goes boink.
My toy goes “ding-a-ling a-ling “
Mine goes zip when it moves, and bop when it stops, and whrrrr when it stands still.
But you never knew just what it was, so I guess we never will.
I believe it’s “Scientific Progress Goes ‘Boink'”, to be exact…
Quite right.
yeah! like how did we not feel the entire ship rocking just now?!
Inertial compensator is one explanation. Another is that they “boarded” by teleporter and portal, and where they currently are has nothing to do with the saucer.
Yeah, questions, like “So…if the ship never left the atmosphere, where are we going? It’s definitely not space.”
I’m perplexed.
Perhaps Tip got a lift aboard Nick? Or the USS Constitution?
This was the first try, using strong legs, springy shoes and a lion’s head:

works almost every time.
Oh, now I get it! Unity’s comment is an exclamation not a past-tense inquiry.
Thanks Al!
It took me a while, but I think this strip is happening simultaneously with https://skin-horse.com/comic/street-maybe/
Agreed. I can’t believe I didn’t see it right away!
I must’ve needed more coffee… 🙂

…except we already KNOW he’s not just a normal human, as does Tip.
He was bitten and infected by a werewolf back in the day, and despite being “cured”, it’s likely his DNA still has residual changes.
That’s a possibility.
The trace werewolf DNA was even detected by A-Sig’s sensors. https://skin-horse.com/comic/break-room-has/
We’ve already see that end of it from the other angle.
So many questions…

1. talent
2. see above
3. minimum of one
4. KPWNG rhymes with T’Pring (in vulcan)
5. depends on how cooked, and what sauce used

Sounds like this space ship’s tech is spring powered
I have earlier hypothesized that this setting’s Heaven and Hell were created by a powerful time traveling mad scientist. I would not be surprised to learn that Lovetron is entirely the creation of Tigerlily Jones.
Any unexplained elements of the setting can be cleared up with the statement “a mad scientist did it.”
I was thinking it was the product of the further research of Mssrs. Calvin and Hobbes. Their designs always seemed to have a similar auditory component.
Ooh! When Calvin grows up he takes over from Titus Crow and continues to battle The Great Old Ones…
The holoscreen picture of Tip has him hanging for life from the ship. When the screen went “KPWING,” he’s shook off with a fling. For him, just a pretty short trip.
*Applause*
And there’s one question answered.
I didn’t realise this the other week, but it occurs to me that having a major protagonist falling dramatically as the story nears its climax is something of a Garrity trope.
