If Owlmirror’s hypothesis from yesterday is correct, Virginia’s presence may indeed prove crucial. She might perceive something Nick doesn’t, and can provide guidance.
If they’re just non-sapient robots, or remote-controlled, then I think blowing them up would still qualify as pacifism. If they are true AIs, or otherwise sapient machine intelligences of some kind, then no, that would *not* qualify as pacifism. Justifiable, yes, pacifist, no.
He shot HT to pieces with his cannons once, and was okay with doing so because it didn’t actually ~KILL~ him, but merely inconvenienced him.
(Which is a bit of a plot hole – HT somehow has his original body back, despite it having been skeletonized and then torn to shreds with rotary cannons.)
Anywho, it’s unlikely that these drones are either sentient or sapient (A-Sig would seemingly not want to have such inhuman ‘threats’ around), but even if they were, all he would need to do is disable without killing – and with robots, that’s actually easier than with biological entities. As long as their ‘black boxes’ remained intact and their minds / personalities could be retrieved and given new bodies, they aren’t dead.
Your “plot hole” is rather easily filled. We know the Biomass produced botanical copies of the different scientists, etc., that A-Sig sent its way. With H.T. (mostly) in command, the Biomass would certainly have made a copy of him to go into any potentially dangerous situation. In that way, H.T. would ensure his brain stayed intact so he could remain in control.
That delivery was Lovelace, if I remember. Likely not an Anasigma drone. (Also, I don’t think Mr. Green is foolish enough to send sapient drones to wipe out other non-human sapients. A brief talking to, and they might change loyalties.)
They are such an awesome couple.

So long as they’re not…coupling…while he’s concentrating.
Actually, that might prove to be the answer. Hooray for autopilot.
I’ve found the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, myself.
I think this will make the “make love not war” option, a bit more tricky.
Maybe they’ll do both. Nick can multitask.
That’s exactly what happened on their first… date.
Rats! Foiled again!
Oh, I believe that should have started “Curses!”
I was about to say, I don’t think the rats have thrown any spanners in the works recently…
Valiant has a rapier, not a foil.
Don’t take that joke any further.
Is it still pacifism if they’re robots you’re blowing up to save your fiancee (and friends)?

is it pacifism or non-violence here?
Reportedly they’re armed with Hellfire missiles and a quarter ton payload. If Nick tries to blow them up they might blow him up.

It is if the drones have not achieved sapience.
The one making a delivery to Baron Mistycorn at the beginning of the last storyline seemed self-aware. Maybe these guys are, too.

Just a brief discussion about the Ship of Theseus or something…
Do the Daughters of the Air have their own delivery drones? Would’ve thought, if they needed one outside their VR world, they’d rent rather than buy.
“No fiery death for you!” Didn’t the Soup Nazi say that in “Seinfeld?”
So, will Nick disrupt / destroy them, or take control of them, and potentially send them back?
Nick’s gotta get airborne, right now. Dr. Lee’s going with him, oh, wow! It wouldn’t be nice if he sacrificed himself before wedding vows.
