Like “Ground Hog Day”.
Jonah will have every possible interaction with everybody.
Tip and Sweetheart must have killed him a few times,
and he’s had to have lost count with Unity.
IIRC Jonah’s waveform got overloaded when he escaped Anasigma HQ, and instead of starting over and over and over from the theatre there, he gets “future visions” instead.
He can’t have been killed by Sweetheart, because Sweetheart wasn’t in the loop – but if Sweetheart kills him in a close parallel universe he *might* get a warning about it?
It might be a case of speculative probability rather than actual clairvoyance. Instead of “I see what will happen to this man”, it’s “oh, that’s him. Well given what we got now, he’ll probably do this.”
Same… Though admittedly I can’t remember if ‘Antique Cheese’ was a flavor that “The Popcorn Shoppe(?)” offered. But if it was then I probably tried it and found the excess of paprika + caramel burying the cheese flavour disappointing…
I wonder what process was used to age the “cheesy corn”; if not acid and coagulant like some varieties of cheese.
Would’a thought Echo Bravo would’a remembered him, as the guy who advised him about his shoes before he clocked him with the wrench. Don’t think he got a name.
That was 10 years ago. Jonah was just a teenager. He’s mid-20s now, so he looks different. And EB would only remember meeting him once. Plus EB isn’t the brightest bulb in the box. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t recognize him. He might remember if Jonah reminds him about the shoe polishing thing.
He’s elite ops, they’d better watch out. But Jonah Yu knows him, no doubt. Nera says, with some scorn, “No antique cheesy corn!” That’s what this arrest’s all about.
I marvel at how blasé Jonah is about sitting next to a guy who’s killed him many times over. I suppose it loses its novelty after about 300 times.

I count six first time meetings with Echo Bravo and three killings by him. Of course some action does happen off-camera.
There’s no point in going through life getting upset over every little thing. 🙂
Extirpation will do that to ya.
Ironically, he owes Jonah his life
Indeed.
I wonder if past interactions make Jonah’s foresight more or less accurate?

Forget the plot/story/character development, I need to know what Jonah’s shirt says!
Something about Moth Man, if I had to guess
Maybe it’s just “Moth Man” with a couple bug eyes between the two words.
Yeah, I think you’re right
I just realized that’s Baron on the popcorn tub..
Not Antique Style cheesy corn,
Antique Cheesy corn.
Thinking back on it, I’ve eaten stranger things as a teenager.

You misunderstand. It’s not corn covered in antique cheese. It’s cheesy corn that is antique. Presumably they stole one of Moustachio’s tins.

Except for a change of clothes and going from b&w to color, Jonah Yu (and Nera) look about the same. I think Jonah might have grown an inch or two.
Jonah Yu is already taller than Nick Zerhakker.
Wait holy shit it’s been that long? I didn’t realize Skin Horse still operated on semi-real time, that’s honestly disconcerting. :O
ARE THEY EATING MUSTACHIO’S POPCORN?!?!?!
Hitty will have something to say about that
I thought Mustachio just cared about the tins? Not as if he’s popcorn fueled.
Agreed. As long as they save the tins, they’re fine.
