I think this might be the first time Sweetheart has gotten to deliver the punchline. And I love the expression of exasperation on her face in the fourth panel!
… and one of the most wonderful things about Shaenon’s work is that after a lot of time building up the madness we reach a state where things like panel 4 seem outright *normal*. Without the backstory, they’d be totally incomprehensible!
And despite Sweetheart getting the punchline, Tip still managed to get the last word in. Because that’s who Tip is and we probably wouldn’t like him if he wasn’t.
You seem to imply that we like him, and frankly, I don’t. Sure, he has a couple good points – even heroic on a few occasions – but most of the time, he’s a self-centered jerk. If I actually knew anyone like him (and I know a couple), I would avoid being around them (and I do).
The things are electronically locked. And Nick’s brain has coding in stock. A couple of snaps, and they’re ready to clap. But Virginia and Nick want to rock.
You know, I’m so glad that after all the UST between Nick and Virginia we continue to have a hefty helping of ST. I feel like too often in fiction it goes from ‘will they ever know they love each other?’ to ‘married fifty years and wouldn’t mind trying solo vacations’. It’s nice!
So…, now everyone has a date for the weekend, eh?
The look Virginia is bestowing on Nick in the third panel just sizzles!
I’m glad he’s no longer misunderstanding her signals…

You guys do remember you were supposed to take Aimee’s server to Kansas City for a meeting with Pavanne, right?
… it can wait.
That’s what Nick said…
Panel two, Sweetheart, I just wanna give the floofy puppy a belly rub.
And Nick wants to give one to Ginnie.
chicgeekmsw, I know, right?
Guys, escape now, foreplay later. You’re all glad to be here, but let’s take this in the right order, shall we?

Very nice limerick, and I appreciate keeping the last line clean.
Is there some other word I could have used?
Clock?
In theory, the last line could be about a part of Nick’s anatomy.
