I once saw Vincent Price on the Burnett show. He did the same identical scene twice. The first time, it was light small talk… the second time, I think Carol was genuinely a bit scared. I don’t think H.T. (Harold Terwilliger?) has a “light small talk” setting…
Jesus Christ, Unity. I suppose you’ll be answering stage whispers from the other side of the room next. You’re supposed to pretend not to notice when your fellow cartoon characters emote. You should get in touch with “Doug” of Tom the Dancing Bug. He can give you pointers in the cartoon character trade, and he works cheap.
I hear him as the late, great Alan Rickman’s performance in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Just the perfect combination of over-the-top villain and cheese.
I keep hearing him as Tony Jay, another alumni of Disney movies. He was the voice of Judge Frollo in Hunchback of Notre Dame, and has a voice that drips with an elegant evil.
If like me you find yourself perplexed by Channing and Sheanon”s domanace of the English language orgone is a form of life energy proposed by Whiliem Reich, real psudoscientist(1930) in canon, presumably, mad scientist. As for arrears it refers to a debt of money.
A vague recollection of looking through a book by Orson Bean called “Me and the Orgone.” (I wanna say the late Orson Bean, but I’m fairly sure he’s still alive.)
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you… It is Robin’s birthday today, right? Maybe the mad science is getting to me, too, or perhaps its just all these oversized diatoms that have taken residence in my skull.
H.T. can always get a job doing voice overs for horror flicks.

Hungry Tiger.
I know, but I love the idea of him having a milquetoast name. And I finally realized I’ve been giving him Sideshow Bob’s voice…
I’ve been going for George Sanders as Shere Khan (is that species stereotyping?), but Bob works too.

What does he enjoy *doing* with the carrots? Definitely suspicious!
(also, was there ever an orgone accumulator in Narbonic?)
If I recall correctly, the orgone accumulator was the first place where Helen and Dave goinked.
Yup, though she doesn’t say the name until later.

I will now always read H.T.’s words in Scar’s voice.
For me, something close to Blue Meanie saying “My dear friend, let us not forget that Heaven is Blue…”
I’m getting a James Earl Jones with his Vader inflections, sans tube reverb.
I think we need to demand that H.T. tell someone to be prepared at some point during every story arc he is in.
I was thinking of George Saunders, the Shere Khan of Disney’s animated Jungle Book. He condescended *so* well.
This. Definitely this.
Oops, should have read on before my previous comment.
Until now, I never realized that I read H.T. in Scar’s voice too.

This.^

Orgone accumulators? You naughty marsupial you.
What’s so naughty about a wooden box with an interior metal lining?
Naughty if it works.
Any budding pseudoscientist knows Orgone energy is _sexy_ energy.
Let me just say that panel 4 was a joy to imagine.
Raw or cooked?
Yes.

ORGONE? I thought they were in Vermont, not Maine. Although that place is a museum now, but on the other hand, that would be the perfect cover.
An orgone accumulator? Hmmm, just like the one our dear Helen has?
Oh, orgone accumulators are easy. Just watch out for the mob of enraged weathermen.
Actually looking at the linked strip, Helen had an “Orgone Supercollider” That’s probably a little trickier.
I now read all of H.T.’s lines in the voice of Tony Jay. I hope I’ve given it to someone else.

AGGGH! It’s! It’s, damn me! IIIIITTTT’S!!!!!
Good to know some of the mad science creations can enjoy themselves. I’d happily join him, he’s so freaking cute!!
By a weird coincidence, I read that last panel just as I was snapping a carrot in two with my jaws. It was a rather obstinate one, too.
