It’s occupied by an alternate-universe version of Burt Reynolds, obviously. Our version of Burt would never have taken that role, he has a bad knee that ended his football career.
We don’t know that for certain. Maybe for universes where there is no Second Gate it would be a one-way door (until he builds one on that side, of course).
Sadly in that universe, the switch from physical to digital storage mediums didn’t involve switching from tapes to discs, and you can’t really find blue-ray tape players ’round these parts.
Stallone must’ve sold the script for big bucks in that universe…I heard he was offered a million and they wanted Robert Redford, Ryan O’Neill, or James Caan as well as Burt Reynolds. But in this universe, he stuck to his guns and sold it cheap with the proviso that he star in it.
Wonder how Stallone’s career in that universe worked out…
Y’know…when you look up something on the IMDB like “Rocky”—where I cribbed my info about it—the Amazon-dot-com ads on various websites start showing it. I knew that happened for looking up stuff on *their* site, and I knew they had an “in” with the IMDB…but this is a bit much.
Hmmm…a universe in which Sylvester Stallone left acting and became one of the great screenwriters and directors of his generation, bringing back a gritty and minimalist style which helped greatly in his classic remake of “The Maltese Falcon.”
Probably better than the universe in which “Star Wars” featured William Katt as Luke, Kurt Russell as Han and Amy Irving as Leia.
Sergio is finding out the true bane of the visionary and mad scientist. Trying to awe and enlighten the masses with revolutionary ideas and inventions that can shatter the concepts of reality, and being shot down by people only concerned with small-picture concerns. “But we won’t go anywhere else”, “But how can we outrun the explosion?”, “That will harm a bunch of people”.
… which is a different universe than the one occupied by Burt Reynolds, I assume.

Most universes are occupied by Burt Reynolds. It’s just that they’re also occupied by a bunch of other people.
There’s one catch, really: you can presumably only travel to universes where someone decided to build a Second Gate!
Which kinda means Sergio can never skip across to the “too smart to get caught by Anasigma in the first place” universe…
Well you van probably travel to first gates, and uppon arrival make a second gate with parts from Ikea.

I’m curious why he actually wants to shove someone thru the gate, instead of simply shutting the thing down and erasing A-Sig’s records of it and him.
Smart is not the same as wise.
Mr. Green strikes me as having read the Evil Overlord handbook. [1] He probably is aware of the concepts of “offsite backups” and “hard copy.”
[1] Although he does seem to have ignored the part about disproportionate punishments.
I’d visit that universe if only to buy a blue ray of Rocky…

That’s kind of weird when you consider why we switched from one-dimensional to two-dimensional storage. Although I’m probably overthinking things.
Ok, you can go to other universes, but can you come back? dun dun duuun!
You can if you know how to build a Second Gate. 😛

I’d like to go to the universe where Arnie is Judge Dredd
I just want the universe where Fiddler on the Roof started Zero Mostel.
A videotape of that does exist in our universe…reference for future performers…but unreleased to the general public.
There is a clip of him performing “If I Were a Rich Man” on YouTube…

Annoying little . . . ahem.
I’m sorry to have to admit that last panel is much like one of Sweetheart’s posters in VR…
I’m more curious as to what exactly Sergio’s goal is with all of this. Assemble a council of his alternate selves at the gates?
Unity MineCraft skin, if anyone’s interested. http://www.needcoolshoes.com/skin/u4grV/unity
I would like to see that movie very much.
