To be fair, neither she nor her insurance company saw the dragon. Maybe they didn’t trust the report entirely, and thought Kay wouldn’t know any different.
Or maybe they knew how hopelessly inefficient the Bureau of Fantastic Creatures is at dealing with this sort of query. If you need advice on caring for an injured centaur, they’re the perfect people to ask.
It’s not obvious to me. Perhaps in the future there’s a zoo where Kay’s garage is and a komodo dragon got displaced back in time. Or maybe in the future dragons have evolved naturally (or with help) and one got sent back somehow.
Alternatively, maybe it came from sometime so far back there’s no fossil record of it and since the Department of Precambrian Defense isn’t there to protect us anymore this is a thing that happens now. Everybody’s keen to shrink government and then gets indignant when a bridge collapses or a dragon smooshes their car…
The original book was how she got into trouble in the first place. It just said “on your car.” It was a bit strange that it was just a pamphlet instead of a full novel.
Kneazles aren’t aren’t actually smart enough to use a keyboard. Greymalkin and Cait Sidhe are filed under Beings, and including them in the book would have been insensitive. Not everyone goes the Centaur route.
It does include a small selection of species that should fall under the beings category but don’t like centaur
But they’re consistent about that, for example they don’t mention anything about the dragons with being level intiligence
Well, if a Dragon did sit on her car, then the DTA is the ones she needs to talk to as it was a Temporal Anomaly (every one knows the car-sitting Dragons died out in 1874)
Well that’s just plain obvious. Now, if it was a T. rex, the DTA would make sense.

Or when a collapsing bridge smooshes their dragon.
“Dinosaur” is a relatively recent word. “Dragon”, “tanyin” (sp?), “wyrm”, etc are all much older.
I think she needs a book called “Fantastic creatures and where you park your car so it doesn’t get sat on”
The original book was how she got into trouble in the first place. It just said “on your car.” It was a bit strange that it was just a pamphlet instead of a full novel.
I found that book to be horribly incomplete. I mean, it mentions Kneazles, but not Greymalkin (like me) or Cait Sidhe!
…Then again, I should probably expect something like that from a book written by a two-legger, nyao.

The centaurs for example are Beasts at their own request, since they don’t want to be associated with us.
@darkstarling: exactly! You are a gentleman(woman?) and a scholar
Was the dragon in her garage invisible?
Damnit, Elliot!
Even if it was, it clearly wasn’t permeable to cars.
airbag deployment!
Well, then, the dragon’s insurance should pay for it.
Exactly. What kind of advice are her attorneys giving her?
Should I be worried that she is apparently making sense?
Well, if a Dragon did sit on her car, then the DTA is the ones she needs to talk to as it was a Temporal Anomaly (every one knows the car-sitting Dragons died out in 1874)
Though the first car wasn’t built till 1886…
Thus the Temporal Anomaly.
