We natives of non-peninsular Florida kind of separate the northern area as “Real Florida” and the peninsula as “Where People Work For The Rat.” Ah, Florida, I miss you (I live in AZ now.)
I’d hope for May 13th at the absolute earliest. Sweetheart learning abut Nick’s dream in her own dream is a level of recursion I’d like to avoid unless actually necessary. (Sweetheart learning about Tip’s dream in her dream would be less of a problem, because there’s no previous evidence he had a dream.)
But I’d prefer a later date (like, today) as there’s been a lot of plot development over the past week that I would hope has actually happened.
Not necessarily. Nick’s dream-bubbe said nothing about coming for him, she was just judgemental and disapproving. And we still don’t know what Tip’s dream was like, although he seemed to not have found it unpleasant at all.
What I find weird is that they a few strips later, they both describe it as they dreamed of people who MIGHT come for them, which is weird on its own, and also weird because we the audience didn’t actually see them say that in the dreams.
Perhaps the distinction is that Tip and Nick are mostly normal human beings. Tip has a little werewolf venom and some essence d’Unity running in his veins, and Nick has various “enhancements”, but overall – biologically – they’re both mostly human.
And I can only assume that Tip’s mom and Nick’s bubbe were both even more normal human beings, whereas all the other non-humans’ creators were Mad.
Yes, but Nick’s and Tip’s dream were unique in that their “creators” said they might be coming for them, while in everyone else’s dream, their creators simply said “I’m coming for you.”
In her *last* encounter with Captain Bram, Sweetheart brought about the end of the world by being unable to close a fire door. Sweetheart might believe that possible, but the rest of us are skeptical.
Captain Bram wouldn’t accept the paranormal any more than Sweetheart does. But he might manifest as a figment of her subconscious mind to guide her in shaking free of Anasigma’s insidious control…
So this, I assume, is Sweetheart’s dream.
Poutine in a Florida bar?
Gotta be a dream!
There actually was a place in Key West.
There is a good poutine place with a bar in Indianapolis, IN. I would believe there is one SOMEWHERE in Florida.
Florida is infested with Canadians, though poutine is more of a French Canadian thing and most of the ones down here are the other kind.
South florida is a land composed entirely of immigrants and tourists. Often Canadian tourists. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me.

Oh, I assumed those were chili fries
That looks like Capt. Braum(sp?) to me.
The question being how long we’ve been in Sweetheart’s dream.
Quite possibly since May 10, 2020 (rather serendipitous.) May 11th for the regular strip.

Captain Bram, coming to get Sweetheart, I presume?
Not necessarily. Nick’s dream-bubbe said nothing about coming for him, she was just judgemental and disapproving. And we still don’t know what Tip’s dream was like, although he seemed to not have found it unpleasant at all.

The key is that the dream figures are the “creator” (or perhaps perceived to be, in Bubbe Z’s case.)
Yes, but Nick’s and Tip’s dream were unique in that their “creators” said they might be coming for them, while in everyone else’s dream, their creators simply said “I’m coming for you.”
Would either of them remember a dream that accurately?
Why wouldn’t they? I very often remember significant dreams in detail for a long time.
“If I actually see you, the voodoo man wins.” I like that.
If “Skin Horse” is ever repackaged in new books, that’d make a great title.
That definitely implies she recognizes his voice. Maybe she’ll be the first to cognizant enough to make sense of these dreams.
Sweetheart has dealt with Anasigma mind manipulation before. She’s got that going for her.
Yeah, mind games or not, I don’t think she’s quite ready to make nice with Remy. A great way to summarize it.
Sweetheart: Why did you come here?”
Captain Bram: For you
Audience: Awwww
Sweetheart: AAAAAAUGH!
Nice
Come on,
ScullySweetheart, after being presented with direct irrefutable evidence you still don’t believe? In her *last* encounter with Captain Bram, Sweetheart brought about the end of the world by being unable to close a fire door. Sweetheart might believe that possible, but the rest of us are skeptical.
Sweetheart didn’t necessarily believe that it was possible, Anisigma just asked her to prove a negative.
Captain Bram wouldn’t accept the paranormal any more than Sweetheart does. But he might manifest as a figment of her subconscious mind to guide her in shaking free of Anasigma’s insidious control…
Poor Sweetheart, she’s gone to meet her maker… **badum-ching!**
Don’t discount the possibility that Anisigma or Gavotte had the Captain cloned.
I like that idea!
I’m not sure whether I like that idea or not. It adds a whole new layer of complexity to an already tortuous plot.
Of course, what makes it all the more disturbing is the fact that it’s entirely possible.
Eww. Considering what happened to his body after he died, I’m not sure I want to know where they got the genetic material.
Well, in Sweetheart’s VR hell when she was talking to him, he said he never found his spleen, so maybe that’s the one thing that A-Sig did find.
