The Whimsy/Disney paradox has popped up a few times now. I suppose there’s no particular reason the two can’t coexist, albeit with the latter being markedly less successful than in reality.
It occurs to me that someone with weak telekinesis could, say, slide the safety on an automatic. And maybe even eject the magazine, and the round in the chamber, if applicable. Whoops!
/just thinking ahead.
[Panoptica: Silvers, you’re a traitor!
SS: Nope, I’m just following orders. Who am I to question the great and powerful Cerebriac? ]
Also, Wikipedia says that TaleSpin took some inspiration from a manga by Hayao Miyazaki, and Miyazaki’s anime of that manga, Porco Rosso, may have also taken some inspiration from TaleSpin. So, yay creative feedback loops!
Now Panoptica is in a fix. She praised them earlier for following orders without thinking. She knows these orders can’t be right, but she can’t very well tell them now to defy their orders and use their brains. She’s already made enemies of the SH team and the ship’s crew. She doesn’t want to turn her own people against herself as well.
I think her best strategy at this point would be to back down, admitting (or claiming) to be an innocent pawn who is only following orders. Let Rhodey go (if the others haven’t already) and take the ship and everyone on it home. She can always go out again after she’s gotten rid of the opposition.
Ah, the Sea Duck…
Doesn’t he mean the Whimsy Afternoon 😉

Minor edit: Panoptica doesn’t use Shelby’s name. She calls him by his codename, September.

I do love it when “I’m Gone”, “Friends For Life” or “Home Is Where The Heart Is” come up in my random music selection…
So Cerebriac didn’t say anything like “Panoptica’s fired and is now AG-I’s #1 enemy”? You’re slipping, Nera.
Cerebriac didn’t even ask them to sing the AG-I theme song.
Jonah may have just dropped Nera in it, though.
Darn it, Nera, you can’t do shout-outs to cartoons where the themes actually have coherent lyrics? I’m not even going to try to filk <i.TaleSpin!
Well, so much for my belief in Cinder’s shrewdness. ^o^
Or maybe she knows this whole fiasco is wrong and this is her way of stopping without disobeying orders. [I said “maybe.”]
Well, at least Nera has them doing something of worth. Although Panoptica doesn’t strike me as a patroness of the arts.

Nera has good taste.
Now how would you know what Nera tastes like?
