The jumpsuit has the same hue as the belt (around 310, where red is 360 and pure purple 300), and the boots and gloves are around 290). I’d call the former pink and the latter purple, but they are pretty close.
As for how they’re doing this, I’m happy working on the assumption that Tigerlily can do whatever a spider can (or something). While Marcie’s current location could have been very uncomfortable during yesterday’s strip, the room could have been designed without all those harsh accelerations.
To me the belt is the same pale pink as the collar. The jumpsuit is what manufacturers call “dusty rose”, a grayish shade of pink. The gloves are darker grayish pink, but not as dark as the boots, which I would call purple.
I hope Nick’s brain can emerge unscathed from all this! Imagine how terrifying his last moments must have been as they disconnected his sensory inputs leaving nothing but his self-diagnostics to hold to until he was unceremoniously dumped down the waste disposal chute… The helplessness as darkness claimed him…
Perhaps he dreams of Dr. Lee, imagining her escape? If her smiling face is the first thing he sees upon returning to consciousness, will he be strong enough to clutch at sanity for her sake?
Or is his swear filter part of his cybernetics and AI enough to be engaging him in dialog all this time, so he was never Alone?
Of course it’s most likely the brain is no longer viable. In which case we can hope Aimee and Lovelace may have uploaded Nick’s brain to the Cloud…
It’s touching to witness Virginia’s devotion to whatever remains of Nick.
Dave was a head without a body for several days and was still able to talk, despite not having any lungs, and possibly not even any vocal cords. Clearly, death doesn’t work the same way here.
Perhaps the high-tech protective gel selectively absorbs water, oxygen and nutrients while rejecting toxins, thus throwing nick in the sewer was equivalent to putting him in a nutrient bath. It was fully engorged with water when it first came out of the sewage, which is why it was so visible, and it was able to sustain Nick out of the water for a time, though it was steadily shrinking – which is why it seemed to disappear. either that, or it was just hard to draw.
Does Dr. Lee simply assume that Gavotte would be welcome?
But I guess that at this point, it is Dr. Lee and Nick that really need asylum/refuge/sanctuary. Gavotte could make her way anywhere, including on board the Annex One, and be at home, and possibly in charge.
The only way that Dr. Lee could see Tigerlily as depicted is if Tigerlily were riding near the robot’s foot. Yet that seems very uncomfortable (swing-THUMP!, swing-THUMP!, for hour after hour), as well as inconvenient compared to somewhere up high on the robot where they can see upcoming obstacles like radio towers, electrical lines, and bodies of water and similar things to be avoided as soon as they come into view.
I imagine she devised some way to utilize the elevators (don’t ask me how – its Mad Science) to move quickly from one point to another within the robot.
To be fair, Dave was also maybe probably sorta a zombie at that point. And though we’ve already seen different flavors of zombie in Skin-Horse, I think a (ninja pirate) zombie robot would be a new thing.
It’s how calm Dr. Lee is about this that gets me. Trying to hitchhike on a giant robot, yes, okay, who wouldn’t? But no stutters, no “ers” or “ums”, no misspoken phrases? That takes a whole ‘nother level of steady nerves.
There’s also that level beyond panic, where nothing fully registers any more. Not because you don’t notice stuff, but your brain simply refuses to process it.
On the one hand, Dr. Lee has seen a lot in general, and the past few days, she has been through the wringer. It’s going to take more than a mere giant robot to faze her.
And on the other hand, she knows Annex One, and Tigerlily, and Marcie, and everyone else in the building. She knows that Tigerlily is a Mad Scientist, and is therefore theoretically capable of building a giant robot from a building. Why should she be unsteady seeing people she knows doing things that are only somewhat surprising?
And on the third hand (Brian), Unity did already point out that Dr. Lee is not as weak and tenderized as she looks.
Ah, what’s a few leaks between friends? I’m sure Nick had no use for the parts of his brain that were lost like that anyway. ^_~
Or this is the design? She started with a coffee carafe. Nutrient-rich liquid in, nutrient-depleted liquid out.
(My memory of college is that caffeine can substitute for any other nutrient.)
For me it was pizza and Mountain Dew. ^^
Same here. And Ramen noodles.
Hot pink jumpsuit?! Have mercy!!
The belt and the collar are pink. The body is light purple, the gloves look to be medium purple with sequins, and I think the boots are dark purple.
NICE!
But isn’t that a familiar looking wrench tucked into the belt?
Sorry, all that looks like mauve to me.
Lavender. Definitely lavender.

& I’m sure all the readers fondly remember the bomb disarming arc ;^)

My theory/hope is that early on he went into a coma, shutting down consciousness and minimizing energy consumption.

Well, Gavotte certainly seemed to assume that Gavotte would be welcome, and who is Dr. Lee to argue?

Oh, wait. I forgot that Tigerlily has a hologram avatar. Maybe that’s what’s sticking it’s head out at just above Dr. Lee’s level.
I imagine she devised some way to utilize the elevators (don’t ask me how – its Mad Science) to move quickly from one point to another within the robot.
Maybe the robot bent down.

Are you suggesting that Skin Horse would never stoop to a Pacifist Jew Zombie Cyborg?
Boy, Nick really let himself go.
Is Tigerlily hitting on Doctor Lee?
She really has got her mojo back.
Unfortunately, the cyborg couldn’t be hard on her.

With some people, there is a level of panic where they appear calm and rational. It’s possible that Dr. Lee is in that state.

There is no “u” in “airborne.”
