Couldn’t find a name-check leafing through the books. Early in Vol. One? Sometime during the dog-pack sequence? Somewhere else? (For sure, it’s not in Sweetheart’s cast page entry…but, truth be told, that could use some updating and new entries.)
Yup, that’s it, that’s good enough for me. Told me where it was…found it in Volume Two…and I found a couple of other name-references as well. Can’t work the archives worth a darn…thanks for setting me straight.
I kinda see it in a small -levitating- glass bowl. Like a cup that doesn’t need the ‘stem’ (is that the word?) ’cause it floats. But can be just my eyes, I’m just waking up XD
Or Captain Bram ran out on his dogs and left behind a dead clone, perhaps with a big bowl of cheese curds and one hand dramatically clutched on its chest?
It was several years ago, way back,
Captain Bram got eaten by his pack,
But Ao says he’s here instead,
Which probably means that he’s not dead,
And now he’ll introduce Sweeheart,
To the one and only creator,
Of Captain’s Fancy loyal dogpack band.
Captain’s Fancy loyal dogpack band,
The Kennel Club they told him “No!”
Captain’s Fancy loyal dogpack band,
Madness brought him to Dr Ao.
We don’t know how he got here,
It could make Sweetheart flip,
She should have rampaged through the States,
He had big plans for all of them,
He had big plans for them.
I don’t really think the Captain meant,
For her to join the U.S. government,
Instead of seeing it get overthrown,
He won’t think that she deserves a bone.
Since he never saw the Kennel Club,
Fall beneath the fierce jaws,
Of Captain’s Fancy loyal dogpack band.
Somehow, don’t believe they are on to her, to do that, they would not only have to know that Skin Horse is still operational without authority, know about the Battle Suit, and know that it is Sweetie currently ‘piloting’ the Suit
There is just too much for them to know, let alone know all of it, unless Skin Horse has a traitor or a mole spy
If they knew about the drone at all, they’d know it was in Bubbles’ possession last. The person piloting it is clearly not Bubbles, as they have more than 5 words in their vocabulary. Therefore, when looking for potential allies, you look to her previous department – Skin Horse. Not Gavotte, too unbending, and besides, she’s dead. Not Nick, too polite. Not Tip, too flustered. Not Unity, too safety-conscious, besides, Smart!Unity and Dumb!Unity would be much more confident in this situation, albeit for different reasons. Therefore, by process of elimination, Sweetheart is the one piloting the drone. And then you research her, specifically, to start nailing down details.
Ever had the sensation that your brain just skidded to a screeching halt inside your skull? Well, I have NOW. I think there’s skid-marks involved. Oh, Sweetheart…..
You know, if it weren’t for the fact that her flashbacks look nothing like him, since Bram isn’t exactly a common name and he is from Canada, I might expect that Bram was based on Bram Morrison from Sharon, Lois & Bram.
Captain Bram?!? I just gasped so hard that I couldn’t breathe for a minute.
That… THAT is a wham line.
Ohhhhh myyyyy….
Many people have said Ao et al. were on to her. I didn’t believe it until now.
Yeah, that’s not an accidental line.
Captain Bram?
Could someone bring me up to speed?
Sweetheart’s creator.
Thanks!
😀
You know how Sweetheart’s full name is “Captain’s Fancy Valentine Sweetheart”?
Bram is the Captain. He’s her creator. Stumpy bald guy, last we heard dead and eaten by his creations.
If Dr. Ao heard from him yesterday, somebody’s information must be wrong…
“There’s always an out, Beta. Remember that.”
Heh. Heh. Heh.

Name-check? You mean you want a comic where the Captain is referred to by name?
Yup, that’s it, that’s good enough for me. Told me where it was…found it in Volume Two…and I found a couple of other name-references as well. Can’t work the archives worth a darn…thanks for setting me straight.
I’ve eaten things that have come back on me, but not like that!
I knew captain Bram sounded familair, but it had been so long I had to look it up.
That looks a bit like Dave in the background.
Dave is heavier set.
The thought plickens!
I read that as Captain Bramin M. Wing.
I, too, noticed the bad kerning. I suspect Ao somehow did it deliberately.
It’s not bad kerning, it’s Mad Kerning. The fools, telling me you couldn’t kern like that!
Okay so dramatic plot revelation and all that, but is that wine… in a small glass bowl?
And the door is still ajar…
I have bad noticing-priorities…
I kinda see it in a small -levitating- glass bowl. Like a cup that doesn’t need the ‘stem’ (is that the word?) ’cause it floats. But can be just my eyes, I’m just waking up XD
Stemless wineglasses are in fact a thing.
“What?” *is* a question…
Oh poop. They’ve perfected resurrection tech.
Wha’for, with all the zombies running around in the strip?
Or Captain Bram ran out on his dogs and left behind a dead clone, perhaps with a big bowl of cheese curds and one hand dramatically clutched on its chest?

Awesome! I only wish I had the brain power to do something to With A Little Help From My Friends.
Ah. Busted.

Remember when they thought the Osprey was bugged? Guess where Sweetheart’s body is right now?

Okay, we’re into Phase 2. And someone will have to pay for this.

Aah.
I did not remember this twist.
So I get to be surprised by it again, joy!
