Well, when they drove Noriega out of the Nunciature, they used things like “Welcome to the Jungle” (Guns N’ Roses), “I Fought the Law” (The Clash), and “Too Old to Rock ‘n’ Roll, Too Young to Die,” (Jethro Tull).
What kind of music would it take to drive Aimee out of VR Whimsey World?
What does the movie have to do with it? That song (not actually by Wham, but by George Michael solo) came out way back in 1984. I hated that song when it first came out. The song was actually pretty good, but I couldn’t stand Wham, so my brain told me that the song must suck, cuz it’s the same guy singing it. It took me three or four years to finally decide I liked it.
I take it you didn’t watch the movie, then? The song existed for a long time before it, but the reference to the reference of playing it on a boombox would be lost without it.
Not when you consider how many hundreds of kids I saw throughout the 80s holding boomboxes with that very song blaring on them. That was practically the theme song for romantic angst. The movie just revived the image.
S.Q.I.D. electrodes to the temples of an electron brain to connect it to a computer. Seems awkward, but then it wouldn’t surprise me if his serial port was gunked up. It would surprise me if it wasn’t.
Whimsy did “a few tweaks to test to the female demographic” when making Aimee; a lot of people here seem to be forgetting that and expect her to be completely identical to Nick. With corporations being so out of touch with that kind of thing, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those things was “increased fondness towards unicorns”, and didn’t bother to consider side effects.
What song is Baron going to blare in said boombox?
“It’s the end of the world as we know it” by R.E.M. is my guess.
Hint: “Gentlemen, let’s broaden our minds!”
“Freakazoids, Robots, please report to the dancefloor!”

Lawrence Welk’s famous “One Toke Over the Line”? Roy Clark’s “Music Revolution”?
Johnny Cash’s “I’m too Sexy for my Shirt”? Or, hell; just play Pat Boone’s “In a Metal Mood”…

“In Your Eyes” if I’m remembering the scene I think he’s referencing correctly.
“Shock the Monkey” by Peter Gabriel

Does The Deadpool movie exist in this universe? Because if so my bet’s on careless whisper by Wham!

Eh, the Baron did his part when he chose the side of Good and stood against Evil. Not his fault that defeat has it’s perks! ^_~

He was created, what, back in the 60’s? I’d be surprisesd if he had any.
Upgrades?
TTY, tarbell, sparcnet . . .
Be nicer to your wannabe future brother-in-law, Nick.
Hope not. If Nick’s ideal is Ginny, Aimee’s CAN’T be Baron Mistycorn.

Anybody who’s ever lived or hung out with twins would know there’s always a difference—most of ’em really don’t like being dressed alike, for one…
Well, unless they’re playing that game where they make you guess which one is which.
Ohh, this is going to be fun. The Baron’s going to be shot down in an epic fashion. Nick will chuckle between winces.
And then they have to figure out what to do about the crown in Whimsy’s hands.
Which is *no doubt* the same software they wrote… ahem.
Panel 3: That used to be Nick’s line. This storyline has really shown how he’s grown. (Or maybe how he’s always been but didn’t want to admit.)
Well it was awfully nice of Lovelace to have that done for him.
But on the other hand also awful in the traditional sense.
