Unity has always been naturally honest. Dumb Unity basically blurts out whatever she’s thinking with little to no filtering. Smart Unity has always been brutally honest, which is why no one likes her that way. Honesty is just part of her nature.
Eating whatever she can is also part of her nature. She’s only learned though contact with others at Skin Horse that it’s not appropriate to always eat every possible thing. I’m not sure she fully understands to this day what is OK to eat, and what isn’t. Luckily for her teammates, she’s learned to rely on them for guidance in these matters.
Isn’t this true of every living human with ethics? I mean, we aren’t plants and we’re not exactly carrion-eaters either. You don’t eat living things (or very-recently-living things that died to feed you), you die. We don’t have a choice in this: we don’t have vultures’ thermonuclear immune systems.
Unfortunately, we will never learn just lethal Unity could be to enemies. It just isn’t in
the nature of the authors to revel in violent and abrupt changes, nor is the medium
really capable of such portrayal. Fortunately, I suppose.
I have the urge to tell her I would bring her a puppy EVERY DAY. I bet her eyes would gleam, and she would be SO grateful EVERY DAY. And you’d never have to
think of ‘what would be a nice new different present’. Someone whose taste you
could depend on…..
I’m having a hard time sussing out what those hats are and it’s low-level bugging me. Are they baseball hats? Peaked caps? Berets? Early on some appeared to be drawn with bigger visors, but now they’re more consistently drawn with short brims.
Greater cause, first, Unity, then you can visit the snack bar.
Oh, fine, Unity… When the other team of inspectors arrives, you can eat them. Happy now?
Unity: “All right! Do y’all have any mustard?”
No mustard, but here’s some salt and pepper. That should give them some flavor.
Wow, now they’ve directly addressed this, she feels bad about lying but not about eating living things
It’s possible she only feels bad about lying to nice people.

There must be some difference in the taste between breeds.

They look like they could be hard hats, but I can’t be certain.
Pith helmets with a baseball cap brim?
Why do I have this sinking feeling that “puppies to gnaw” could end up being “irreconcilable differences”?
Nick, Tip and Sweetheart, all bellied up to the bar… HT would be the perfect bartender!
Unity needs to be reminded- dead puppies aren’t much fun!
Oh, and Sweetheart used to be one…
Clearly, Captain Bram didn’t think that dead puppies were much fun either. They don’t come when you call (but then again, neither do live puppies).
Well, Unity did seem fond of the six-toed cats a few episodes ago. Did she sample any? Can’t recall.
You know, now that you mention it, I don’t recall whether she actually said why they had to save the cats.
