Those who are more plugged in than myself probably already know about this, but I just came from Chris Baldwin’s page, where he dropped a link for the book launch, which is now available as a recording.
Now I find myself wondering about the economics of a purely virtual society. One would think shoes would be free, but perhaps simulating ever-increasing amounts of virtual objects has processing costs, so there would be some sort of “free stuff” cap?
Well, it does have the infrastructure. The only thing Aimee would have to do is convince the Barons running the casino. Hence my question regarding the vig earlier.
Contributing to the delinquency of a mynah…
ROFL! Pygar, you win an Internet for that!
This is gold!
Brilliance!
*slow clap*
I doff my hat to you, Pygar. [Puts on hat so he can doff it to Pygar.]

In case anyone is interested.
(Robin makes an appearance, too)
There are pages shown from the book! Some of which are read!
Thanks for tuning in! It was a lot of fun, and it was the first time I’d seen Chris since before we started work on Willowweep.
I got mine delivered yesterday! Its a really nice hardback, and a ton of content for the price!
nice “twitch, twitch” lines in the last panel.
feedin’ that addiction.
Gary, didn’t you just get back _on_ that wagon?
(I swear he was discorporeated back in ‘Fun for Some’, but we do tend to think physically.)
That’s why Daddy needs a new pair of shoes.
Isn’t that the bird that thinks he’s human? From the nonhuman con in Cleveland?
No, that was Phil.
I thought so too.
Doesn’t wear shoes? Well, not at the current price of shoes, he doesn’t!

The gambling gives Wilkin the blues. They signal-track looking for news. They’re eager to play, in the VR array, with a chance just to win or to lose.
(Heh-heh-heh. Bet you thought that last rhyme would be “shoes.”)
I was sad because I had no shoes until I met a man with not feet. So I took his shoes.
I bet the Baron clones are running the games for the other A.I.s, which raises the question about the vig on signal tracking.
did they repurpose the Baron’s virtual Vegas?

I was going to say at least it’s not a Gacha game, but I guess since the shoes are digital, it might be.
…at least she’s not tricking them into mining crypto.
