It’s a rad-ray scramble to the top of the heap, in a funky clockwork death maze.
He’s a Danish madman who has found a lackey, even he thinks is crazy.
Unconcerned with the ostensible prize, for the rad ray’s not his goal
He will waltz into the danger zone, where his lackey always goes first.
He can cut you with a knife, or push you into the fire
Were you sane, then you would likely see
He’s a maniac, maniac, are you deaf?
And he’s stated that he wants to kill you all!
He’s a maniac, maniac, and you’re mad.
‘Cause he’s stated that he wants to kill you all.
Maniac from Flashdance, right? I usually don’t bother trying to decrypt these parodies (because I often don’t know the original) but I saw Sasha mentioned it was from the 70’s and was hyped because anything in the era of disco I know like the back of my hand.
I was confused because I didn’t recognize it until I read lower and that it was from the eighties. Which changes everything.
I’m reminded of a line from very early in the comic: “I didn’t think he was the type of homicidal maniac who went crazy and killed people”. I might not have the wording exactly right, since I don’t have a back-link to that comic handy, but I think I’m pretty close.
I thought that sounded like Sweetheart speaking of Captain Bram, and I used the *highly efficient* method of reading “Dead Dogs” from the beginning to see if I could find it. Is there an easier way to search comic strips? You have the quote right. http://skin-horse.com/comic/impression-that/
I find it easier to download the images locally (links such as http://skin-horse.com/comic/page/1/ are good for this) and look at them with a program which can show several at the same time.
A text index would be useful, but it seems like a lot of work for someone who didn’t already have the final text in a convenient format.
That said, it would still take a while to check if Dr Walske has ever displayed any interesting abilities beyond his “appear from nowhere” thing.
“A text index would be useful, but it seems like a lot of work for someone who didn’t already have the final text in a convenient format.”
True, and that format isn’t available, because there are often changes between Jeff’s typed script and the final inked version. Downloading a bunch of strips at once would have been more efficient than what I was doing.
So, he’s a mad scientist, and _also_ a homicidal maniac? Does that make him double-mad?
(So why did he join this contest in the first place? Lot more people outside of Skin Horse than inside it. Or does he prefer killing other Mads, like some sort of amoral Othar Tryggvassen?)
open palm, insert face
I advise not blocking your field of view while in the presence of the homicidal maniac.
Nah he’ll be safe. Remember, if you can’t see him he can’t see you.

For once I actually recognize the filk, because my boss likes to play 70’s music.
Well, you gotta know and love the song to do it right. Anything after 1985, well, for me it’s few and far between…
That song is copyright 1983. Not much to do with the ’70s…

To be fair, no mad scientist worth their glassware full of unidentified colorful liquids would let mere death prevent them from showing them all.
Tune as we continue to explore the question of “Can Homicidal Mania withstand the feckless eccentricity of the St. Charlie Spark?”! ^_^
Heck, homicidal mania might be a requirement for upper management around there. It would explain why Walske is following him so cheerfully.

Well, this is somewhat more efficient, but not really much help. http://skin-horse.com/comic/chapter/skin-horse/big-bad/
Yep, that would have been more efficient than the way I was doing, clicking through each one.
Some webcomics have text indexes, but I don’t think that this one does.
Sounds like a labor of love for some SH fanatic(s), to transcribe searchable text for each strip… including sound effects, natch.
I find it easier to search in the print books… but that means it’s harder for me to find /recent/ quotes.
Hmm… couldn’t the irradiator help with that? 😛

You know death doesn’t really slow some of these guys down. Ask Zombie Ben Franklin.
I’ll ask him next time I’m in Malibu.

He was not invited. Maybe he already knows Tigerlily and will tolerate no rivals.
Homicidal maniacs rarely require invitations. 🙂
So The Dane turns out to not be so Great after all.
