Nick’s fundamental problem is one of sour grapes: he doesn’t know how to get what he wants, so he settles for a critique that justifies his current position and criticizes anyone who does have what he wants.
I think it’s more that Nick uses a surly façade to cover his inherent vulnerability and general lack of self-confidence. He deliberately tries to push people away because of fear of intimacy. This is why Nick gets along with Baron Mistycorn- because they can just be dudes hanging out and playing computer games together without having to talk about emotions and relationships and so forth.
For some reason, I’m reminded of the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Merlin the Magician zapped Bugs into a horse, and he unzipped the outfit and appeared as his regular self. (Followed by Merlin zapping himself and finding when he unzipped he was still a horse.)
And that reminds me of Calvin & Hobbes, where the two of them had shot each other so many times with the transmogrifier gun that neither of them could remember who was who.
Brother to sister teasing begets sister to brother teasing. ^_^
And I bet that Aimee’s right about Nick loving it too! 🙂
Of course she’s right. She knows Nick as well as well as she knows herself.
Of course she’s right, she has a mind controlling crown, she can make him love it
Gosh, this is wonderful. Makes me curious as to how things will next go horribly wrong.
“Don’t solicit for your sister, that’s not nice / Unless you get a good percentage of her price…”

I’d go for that one.
“Inside every cynic is a frustrated idealist” after all.
…so when she goes to the other theme areas she has to change dress? If we hadn’t seen her just snap, I’d say that’s terribly impractical
It’s her VR. She can probably set up seamless transitions for herself.
Or Awesome Transformation Sequences.
If there’s an instant between outfits when she’s not wearing anything, there could be quite a demand for slo-mo security-cam footage…
*lobs rotten potato*
Shame on you.
“I don’t feel really well… in this clothes”
Makeover!
So would Tip’s mojo work in VR as well as his haute coutier? (Fighting Spell Chick is getting old)
Hey, Is this Game of Clones!?
Game of Groans for that one.
Could be worse — at least Nick didn’t disintegrate into confetti when she snapped.
Admit it, Nick. Dressing up in something ludicrous is kind of liberating in a way. There’s no macho left for you to cling to.
Quite.
Oh no, we’ve gone full Tip Wilkin!
Looks like the others were right. Nick’s meatbrain must be mush by now.
Not yet. Wait for either a few hours in that outfit or few scene changes, then we’ll see.
After all he’s seen – and been through – over the past few years? This is nothing.
I would totally go full princess in his shoes.
