Honestly the section they placed her in may not be to hold the mad scientist… but actually made to CREATE THEM instead. Then find the ones that work or have the least amount of insanity and then use them for their private research division. Like making a cure for mad scientist through mad science.
Difference between one that works and least amount of insanity. Least amount – Don’t make any spelling errors on my posters. I have a laser gun needed to be built tomorrow.
One that works – With this para parta beam ray cannon I shall roast the turkey to PERFECTION! MU HA HA HA!
technically completely bonkers, but can make a fine roast chicken without blowing up the building.
Huh. I finally completely understand Sweetheart’s thought process. Worried you might be doing the wrong thing? Stop thinking completely. Looking back at the rest of the comic in this context, it explains a lot about her.
I don’t have contact info, but our resident filk factory, Eddurd, lost his wife to cancer suddenly Sunday. He has a post up on his comic page Everyday Heroes.
Well, she’s going mad certainly, but can she be a scientist?
I still maintain Sweetheart is a master of the bureaucratic sciences, so once she turns, she’ll be perfect at managing all the other madboyz and madgirlz there. They may never be able to do anything productive again, but that would be best for the rest of the world.
This is the only magic square (modulo permutations) composed of the digits 1 through 9. Finding it from first principles is very much like solving a very small easy-intermediate Sudoku.
Remember when someone said she might brakthrough as a mad scientist while here? I can really see that happening now.
Yep!
She’s fitting right in!

That’s what anxiety does. I note that anxiety is a mental illness, just not one of the “fashionable” ones.
Gosh it explains a *lot*.
ah, there’s the Sweetheart we know and love
Poor puppy 🙁
😛
“Carve your number on my wall and maybe you will get a call from me…”

Thanks, wayne. My email is eagedeon@yahoo.com.
I will be absent for a few days while I take care of family business.
Sympathies.
My sympathies as well. I recently lost a relative to cancer as well, in a similarly sudden fashion.
oh eddurd, i’m so sorry to hear. may her memory be a blessing, and all possible comfort to you.
I’m sorry to hear that, eddurd. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
I’m so sorry to hear about your wife, eddurd. All of us here will be thinking of you and your family.
My thoughts are with you too – so sorry to hear this.
I’m so sorry, Ed. Please let me know what I can do. I love you guys.
I am very sorry to hear it. Condolences, man.
In edduard’s regrettable absence, let me step up. And make certain assumptions about how a name is pronounced.
“If I Needed Someone,” Geroge Harrison.
If she wanted Dr. Ao
Sweetheart could have just said yes or no.
If she wanted Ao.
Just a yes or no right then
To write it out she wouldn’t use the pen.
If she wanted Ao.
If it were some other day
She might not have to feel like this,
But in the Institute there’s time for love.
Lo Shu Squares and time to think
But there is no excuse for stealing ink,
If she wanted Ao.

Poor Sweetheart. Her programming is really messing her up. It’s even more evident in “human” form.

What she really needs to realise is that this is a team effort; Nick can save the number and tell her it whenever she needs it.
Then she’d be stealing Nick’s time too!
