He was amusing at first, in a sort of wacky Mell Kelly way. Just like Mell, he seemed mischievous on the surface, but there was always the assumption that deep down he was a good person.
But again just like Mell, the more time we spend with Tip, the more evidence we get that there isn’t really a heart of gold beneath it all – that he’s really just a terrible person through and through. He doesn’t grow, he doesn’t change, he doesn’t have any meaningful self revelations or discoveries – he just occasionally gets a lucid glimpse of how awful he really is, mopes about it, then forgets he ever noticed anything and goes right back to his old ways and thinking.
I’m reminded of the inspiring morals at the end of every episode of The Reduced Shakespeare Radio Show:
“I learned people are animals too!”
“I learned you can’t hug a child with nuclear arms!”
“And I learned not to ask Adam and Reed what they learned today.”
Hey, Mr. Wilkin! This Nick doesn’t know “not to let the lady dude tell us his lesson”; you’re allowed to share!
The question is, did Tip actually learn anything?
Does Tip ever learn anything?
Of *course* Tip learns things. They just aren’t always useful things.

Tip seriously rubs me the wrong way anymore.

Tip does know how to hide Alice without a visible holster, and how to teleport around during a “date”.
Boob Tip already knew goinking Sergio was okay, I thought. So neither tip learned anything?
Maybe like Gilda Radner they think violins on television is alright?
“Our bonds of friendship hold the world together.”
My Little Pony’s been there, done that, got the T-shirt. 🙂
Wore the t-shirt out, and got several more to replace it.

Hug a child with nuclear arms? Are we talking radioactive apendages, or actual fission bombs?
Is the duffelbag in question what’s resting on Sergio’s lap?
YUP! is my guess.
Be reasonable, femTip. Goinking Sergio can be everyone’s lesson. Sheesh, what teacher of kids doesn’t respect the lesson of sharing?
Anyone want to place bets on if Mirror Artie faked his death or not?
Look for a head to pop out of some hidey-hole.
Oh,I don’t want that image in my mind!
Drawn into the mission here,
You could bond, you could play the fool.
Blue skies on a cloudless day,

Learning from life in a special way.
Get what you’ve got, don’t you overstay.
Learning from life in a special way.
A vantage point…
You’ll goink yourself…
You’ll goink yourself alone.
You’ll goink yourself…
You’ll goink yourself…

Every story has a moral, but not every moral is worth learning.
“Snow Goons are bad news”.
I’m still hoping they’ll find a way for Ozma to come back with them. She’s too cool to be a one-off character!
Maybe there will be some mirror Ozma running around in the next story arc.
But have they learned how to go home, yet?
