Reminds me of my reaction on seeing a photo of Rupaul wearing a suit and tie for the first time. I learned those who can wear dresses can certainly wear a suit and tie.
Tip… I mean Dr. Wilkin… is certainly going to great lengths to make sure he isn’t going to be the one who screws this up.
His haircut is almost as much of a shock as when I cut 18 inches off my own hair 4 years ago. Luckily I am very consistent in how I dress. If I had also changed my attire the way Tip did here, no one would have recognised me at all!
I still don’t see it. That’s just her wide-eyed stare-y look of shock. There’s no colour in her cheeks, like there was when Unity kissed her on the nose back in June.
That’s why I said “slightly”~ look at her looking at her glass a couple comics back, and look at her now, with small lines under her eyes~ she’s sliiightly blushing, not actual-crush BSOD blushing =P
Could be. But we’ve seen her in the past with that same look when she was only surprised. Funny thing is, on my laptop, I couldn’t see ANY colour with the black lines under her eyes. But now looking at it on my iPad, it looks like there is some. Weird.
Tip may have transformed himself back into a man’s man, but he’s still a fashionista. That’s the tailored suit from Tremontino, so he’s definitely not wearing a cardigan. But yes, it does appear he has added the vest. And I wonder what Tip had to trade for all of it, since he had originally said he couldn’t afford it.
Precisely. That appears to be the vest that I said was added. It wasn’t with the suit when it was hanging at Tremontino’s place. Personally, I wouldn’t wear a vest with a double-breasted jacket, but that’s just personal preference.
The vest is a warm brown, somewhere between tobacco and chocolate, in contrast with the cooler taupe of the suit. The fuchsia tie is making it look more red than it actually is.
I don’t know, that shade doesn’t really work for a platinum blond, especially with the odd vest. Breaking from the earth tones with the fuchsia tie is a little jarring too. I would have gone with something still within the brown family, or a muted blue, green, or dark red in a grenadine weave if you want to break from all the brown.
Ho
ly
defogging glasses batman!
I “can’t tell if it’s good or bad or what even is going on.”
Actually, the suit I can handle and kind of accept. My true source of shock is that he appears to have gotten a haircut to go with it.
I *think* that may just be his regular hairstyle, carefully pinned.
No, it’s got tips visible at the back. 🙁
never have I seen such madness, and I read narbonic to completion
I went sideways in time to see the Broadway musical starring Tim Curry and I still find this weirder
Narbonic, The Musical?
Hmmm… sounds like time for another Kickstarter…
Tim Curry as Dr. Lupin Madblood???

It’s the suit, the suit his nemesis was trying to get him in isn’t it? Chekhov’s outfit hadn’t yet been played.
Good eye/memory. Opened up the story arc archive and sure enough…

Welp, I was wondering if this would happen.
Evidence that Tremontino is a future Tip?
My first thought: “I didn’t know Tip owned a tearaway suit.”
Given his dating history? He probably has three.
Also, this puts me in mind of a certain Twin Peaks episode, for obvious reasons…
OMG the hair! I’m actually tearing up. Such courage. Such seriousness!
And his name *is* Dennis, come to think of it. I wonder if that was a deliberate allusion to David Duchovny’s character…
I was expecting this but it’s still a bit shocking to see Tip like this.
TIP YOUR PRECIOUS HAIR NO
Seriously though dude-clothes Tip looks really weird. He doesn’t look very happy either….
He does look very solemn and professional though. I suspect that is the point.
Are you kidding? He looks hawt! I wonder if the mojo only works when he’s cross-dressed…?
My god… this is serious

“he isn’t going to be the one who screws this up.” I guess we’ll see about that…
I never said he’d be successful. But when he said all he needed was a new look, I doubt anyone expected this.
I once cut off about a foot of hair and all the other hairdressers in the salon came over to watch. Strange experience.
But boy howdy is short hair so much easier to deal with.
(plays the ominous suiting-up music from Barney’s secret origin episode on How I Met Your Mother)
…is… is our lil Sweetheart blushing slightly? XD
Totally missed that!

Aaaand the following comics prove I was right~! =P
We can all see what the following days’ strips show. Bragging about being right is a very unseemly characteristic.
Omg his hair! The suit is one thing but this is serious dedication!
Reality Blindness isn’t strong enough on this!
I did not recognize Tip in panel two on my first reading.
Same here. He’s like a McNinja… Take off the dress (and put on pants), and no one will ever recognize him again.
Manly Tip is hot, as evidenced in Big Bad Wolves when he returns to human from dogliness and UNITY nearly falls for him.
Is that a waistcoat or a cardigan?

Maybe the haircut was the price.
No, he seems to be wearing some dark purple attire under the jacket. It breaks the lines of the tie in third frame.
Also, it shows up just to the our right of sweetheart’s shadowed left ear in the second frame.

His everlasting Soooouuuullll…
All I can focus on is The Hair.
Well Sweetheart, for him that *is* a bizarre outfit.
I was reading this at the coffee shop. Thanks for the hot chocolate spurting out my nose.
He’s really willing to sacrifice for teh cause isn’t he?
Have we forgotten he’s not just Dr. Wilkin, but _Captain_ Wilkin. He’s sacrificed a lot more than hair in his time.
…It’s like watching a dog meowing…
Drag King Tip?!
I hear Tremontino laughing with hearty satisfaction.
No good can come of this.
Let us hope this is not the end of an era, but merely a swerve on what is and will be a long and strange road leading we know not where.
