The Great Debate about T-Rex was (or is) about whether it was a scavenger or a predator.
When I ran across this, along with the description of its dentition (a mouth full of steak knives), all I could think was; What’s the debate about? We’re obviously looking at a Land Shark.
It’s not lazy programming, it’s bad direction from the designers and concept and art people. Programmers do what they’re told (for the most part). Any resemblance to previously seen objects is merely object-reuse, which is good programming.

To quote the Newhart show as best as I remember “Well I’ve been wrong everything else today, why did you think this time was going to any different? “
Calling that painful-death-ray a “conventional weapon”? Nick, you’ve been around the Mad too long.
Wait. I’m confused. Is Nick saying T-rex a cyborg cyborg or a digital version of a cyborg?
