Gavotte’s reply in the first panel seems to suggest she’s also planning to leave. However, in subsequent panels, it kind of sounds like she would like to be asked to stay in an advisory capacity.
Unfortunately, for that exact reason hive-minds are anything other than genocide only for those who consider individuality absolutely worthless. It’s not a strict dichotomy of course, but I tend to view intermediate states more as worst of both worlds instead of then the opposite.
Maybe it’s just because I just woke up 5 minutes ago, but I’m trying to make sense of your comment, and it’s not coming to me.
For the record, neither my comment nor Bruce’s mentioned hive minds. While a hive mind is indeed a collective entity, not every collective entity needs to be a hive mind. If an organization is not working as a single entity, toward a single mission and purpose, then there is chaos. Individuality is very useful, provided it serves the mission and purpose of the organization. And of course, one of the most critical components in any organization is communication among all of the members.
Those cells had no choice. They all run off of the same instruction set.
And yet some still run amok and seek to kill the organization.
This is one of the many reasons Socialism is a Bad Idea. It is too vulnerable to individuals gaming the system. At least with Capitalism the damage is kept to a minimum by failing piecemeal and regenerating to fill in the gaps, often by re-purposing other organizations.
Thus, Skin Horse is following in a fine tradition of doing what needs to be done with the assets at hand.
Love the shoutout to Tacoma! Grit City for life!

The bees leaving for [Lovetron, I believe] was confirmed when Dr. Lee was in the VR and talking to different aspects of Gavotte.
So…are you suggesting we somehow turn ourselves into a collective entity? I think we’ll need a new Mad or two first.
An organization is a collective entity of sorts. And the more it behaves as a single entity, the more efficient it becomes.

A collective working together as one is the definition of a hive-mind.
It is also the definition of a good orchestra.
A hive-mind is by necessity composed of indiviuals, who need not be aware that they are part of a swarm.
The cells of our bodies all agreed to be one organization…presumably.

Who is gaming the system?
So then Frodo and Sam go off on their own, and Sweetheart chases down the Orcs that kidnapped Jonah Yu and Nera.
And Zerhakker is still a kissles virgin.
Well, looks like Tip’s back on the market. It’s a shame Nick can’t stand him…
Actually, I think sarcasm suits Gavotte very well. It must be the British accent to her buzzing.
