[CHORUS:]
I’m going crazy, the cat must go!
And now a hissy fit I’m gonna throw!
Get that sucker right out of here!
I’m gonna say “No, no!”
C-c-c-c-c-c-cat must go!
I’m not a canine playing human, though!
I kinda like the “Successories”,
But no, the cat must go!
Here in the room where I will sleep at night,
A kitty poster makes me want to fight!
I’m gonna rip it up and throw it right
Out of my room’s win-dow!
Tenacious cats have got me seeing red!
I’ll take the happy sunny hills instead!
(Or do you have one with a squirrel that’s dead,
To set my heart aglow?) [repeat CHORUS]
Acually, lots of house dogs act at least neutral to cats. Now I hate to be that guy in the cyanide and happiness youtube comments, but every now and then in this arc the writing takes a cosmic dive, particularly when sweetheart is involved. For example, right now she’s acting like a typical poorly written cartoon character who gives clear suspicions. Now don’t get me wrong most of the strips have been good, clever, and/or tolerable, but so far it’s been three strips that have been this bad, just saying.
Another by-the-bye…y’know, “Dr. Darling” woke up wearing a robe she wasn’t wearing when she, er, fell asleep. So that means she was dressed while out…which means she was *un*dressed while she was out…and, given all that’s been said in the strip about the drone’s, er, shortcomings, it would mean, in all probability, somebody knows.
They might just think she’s brilliant for not showing up in “person”, as it were. Now we just have to hope Nick can block them from tracing her whereabouts…
Given that she seems to be being shown around by another inmate, she was probably un- and re-dressed by another inmate. They probably don’t tell the bosses everything. It’s possible that the facility is so short-handed that for all practical purposes it really is being run by the inmates.
Well, there’s also her near-romance with a treacherous tiger to consider. That may have soured her on felines a bit. (And she’d been *so* looking forward to visiting Cleveland….)
Or else perhaps the device that lets her pilot the drone makes it harder for her to override certain brain impulses that she’s usually pretty good at keeping tamped down.
Her behaviour reminds me of the title character in a play called ‘Sylvia’ — no, not the goat.
Love that play.
“Dog in a Human Suit”: one of the rejected titles for Pink Floyd’s “Animals” album.
Luckily, among mad scientists, I’m pretty sure this is still normal behavior.
Note to self: 1) Do not test “intelligent dog serum” on self.
2) Pick up chew toy at supermarket.
No, don’t use dog serum, nyao. Use cat serum instead–it’ll make you a superior life-form like me, nyao!
Hmm, thanks for reminding me, I need more Meox Mix and catnip, nyao…
Yeah this is probably pretty normal. He doesn’t even seem fazed.
It’s amazing how what would normally be terrible acting is somehow completely perfect for pretending to be a mad scientist.
Wait until she chases down a car.
Depending on the strength, speed and resilience of that android body, this time she might catch it! 🙂
Catching it isn’t the issue.
The issue is the ‘what do I do with it now?’ that comes afterwards…

It’s a good thing that Sweetheart is supposed to be playing a lunatic here.
Oh, Sweetheart. All that time on TVTropes, and you use a Suspiciously Specific Denial? That’s not good.
Acually, lots of house dogs act at least neutral to cats. Now I hate to be that guy in the cyanide and happiness youtube comments, but every now and then in this arc the writing takes a cosmic dive, particularly when sweetheart is involved. She wasn’t raised as a house dog, though.
Dogs know in their hearts that cats can whip their butts…
Before the cats make an extremely comical “Epic Fail” and end up on youtube.
technically true, you know
Another by-the-bye…y’know, “Dr.

And pointless body modification is probably normal among mads.
Actually, I think Sweetheart might be channeling Niue, the hat-hating bird lady. “Cat” and “hat” are just a letter off…
And by working our way through Dr Suess, we can force all the abominations of science to reveal themselves….
And I thought Sweetheart was a sympathetic character. 🙁
I’m reminded of someone else freaking out about hats.
Seems like a typical inmate to me.
(Sigh). You can put in all the best gene and cyber mods, give them all the bureaucratic training, but eventually the base impulses will come through.
So it’s probably not a surprise that it happens to dogs too.
Is this the first appearance of the “Hang In There” kitty poster in SH? I remember it being featured in Narbonic.
Don’t worry Sweetheart, that only helps your portrayal of a Mad.
