“At last, we are playing in my arena. U.N.I.T.Y., I need a gallon of coffee. No, not to knock over. Give me room people! The maestro is about to step up to the podium.”
Yup. Somebody understands. And SHE doesn’t even know where they are. THAT
explains a lot of my own difficulties in Love’s constant struggle against IGNORANCE.
“Launch base” doesn’t necessarily mean many troops, it appears Anasigma has to scrounge for the personnel to “launch”. Probably something like the US military’s “lily pad” bases – a place with pre-positioned materiel, guarded by a small detachment. I’ll bet these bases are mostly empty cyber-suits.Note how long it took for backup to arrive – and what a sorry lot they were.
Well, I hope that’s the case. 283 bases each with a few hundred troops in power armor with energy weapons and backup killer drones – that’s moving out of “kill all nonhumans” territory and into “take over the country” territory.
Look for win, place, or show.
If she designed them, she might have some idea of how to locate them.
She’s practically given away a major clue on how to locate them in that last panel.
Sweetheart can wade through the regulations while Unity follows the notary trail
Their whole lives have been a prelude to this moment.

Well, at least they’re squabbling like a long-married couple!
“We must be married!”
“Why?”
“We’re always arguing and there’s no sex!”
*She* didn’t swallow her umbrella.
OMG are you guys setting up the ultimate battle between Skin Horse and Anasigma? It really is coming to an end.
I can’t imagine how imposing 283 bases would look to a guy still working up the courage to get to first.
Ha! Good one!
Best comment of the night.

Well played, wykstrad, well played. My hat is off to you.

They were stopped by wind-up robots carrying spears, some on horseback. I’m really not too worried.
Why should Anasigma want to *run* the country?
Well, Ira _has_ stated they’re aiming for absolute power: it’s not just about the interspecies hostility.
Frankly, on a scale of 1 to “oh, fuck”, I’d put “kill all non-humans” as ever-so-slightly worse than “take over the country.”
I hope this isn’t the beginning of Sweetheart’s premonition!
Oh, but those wind-ups. They arrive with a bit of whatever TigerLilly is packing, and THAT never stops.
Placing them is clearly a job for mad land planning or mad law, not mad neuroengineering.
I figure it was just normal land planning, not mad. And frankly, that’s plenty irrational on its own.
& complex
It uses sqrt(-2)
I was also wondering. I mean, not sure how one would distinguish the two.
Easy, mad land planning involves multiple plans of existence 😛
Okay, I’ve spent the past several days on a *massive* archive binge to catch back up with this awesome comic, and I’m back up to speed at last.
And the entire time I’ve been wanting to remark how much human!Nick reminds me of Ron Stoppable, every single time he appeared.
Now that you mention it…
