Well, the first two contestants we’ve seen don’t even have legs, so Unity would have to be a little more creative. And I have this terrible fear (and morbid curiosity) that she could.
As we saw during her epic battle with Moustachio, Unity is quite capable of leg-sweeping someone who doesn’t have legs. Repeatedly. Creativity is for people who lack the determination to never acknowledge their standard approach isn’t working!
Four part plan:
1. Enter Hitty and Mustachio (competing as Ramshambler) into the contest.
2. Bet heavily on them to win. Wait for them to demolish opposition (possibly literally).
3. Collect winnings.
4. Use winnings to expand out the mainframe in order to collect all the AI intelligences.
5. Collect Hitty and Mustachio (Mustachio can’t enter the VR environment with his clockwork intelligence, and Hitty wouldn’t leave him) and take the building to the next problem. No bribes, no fuss, everyone wins (or at least can be repaired).
I’m not sure Hitty could be uploaded even if she wanted to. We know she’s fusion powered, but all she knows how to do is hit. (She also knows how to work with Excel, but really, that’s just more hitting.) So I’m not sure what sort of “brain” she has.
It occurs to me that Aimee is only familiar with the Baron through his idealized simulation form. She didn’t really understand the potential consequences of leaving him in charge on the Meatspace side of things.
Seems like Mistycorn has the lethal duels down pat. Just what sort of assistance does Unity have in mind? Leg Sweep 101 classes??

The key word is “effective”. Unity tried to leg sweep Moustachio, but it was quite ineffective.
But she was able to leg sweep the Biomass to at least some effect, even though it also lacked legs.
It’s not an AI-killing bloodsport if they kill organics instead
I still think this is a job for the Battledome Champs, Hitty and the Ramshambler.
called it
With their Annex One accessory, agreed!

wouldnd that sound be: hop-clang, hop-clang, hop-clang
Maybe that’s why it’s a yellow hop
Oh, when can I tune in?
Scheduled fights begin?
Network, cable, or streaming?
If I wanna look
At these robot schnooks?
Network, cable, or streaming?
You need to tell me now,
Of robot battleground.
When at the ringing bell,
The bots begins to pound and pound.
When scheduling the sight,
This Robo-Union fight?
Network, cable, or streaming?

Given how antiviolence that Nik is–a reckoning is at hand!
This.^
1. Anyone who has watched robot blood sports knows they’re called “tread shovels” not “leg sweeps.”
2. The blender is winning because we don’t understand how.
3. The oven doesn’t know it has a broiler setting because its parents fed it only pizza and frozen battered fish filets.
Well, if it’s a mad science blender possibly it can chop, mix, and liquefy things _outside_ its container. Possibly with a multiple meter range.
