They needed Hitty’s fusion device in the beginning, but maybe they’ve figured out how to store the energy in between trips so they no longer require all three reactors to operate.
Is that a real press pass? The idea that Grillo Parlante have become part of the Mainstream Media in the past five years suggests interesting things about the state of nonhumans and reality blindness.
Annex One’s in disrepair,
Has a head up in the air,
And its architecture’s much unloved by all.
But when five years are gone,
Its homing beacon’s on.
And that’s when it joins the urban sprawl.
And its arms keep pounding for you,
Its eyes keep looking for you,
Its rooms keep waiting for you,
And the building keeps walking back to you.
Three fusion pies were hacked,
The Skin-Horse gang hijacked,
For wild open spaces on the lam.
In Kansas it was hard,
With Biomass it sparred,
We won’t forget the power of its slam.
And its arms kept pounding for you,
Its eyes kept looking for you,
Its rooms kept waiting for you,
So the building keeps walking back to you.
And the building keeps walking back to you

I’ll be honest. I certainly read and noticed the “five years” in the text but I really had no idea about what she is talking. I just went along with the ride.
I guess reading the comments, I suppose this is a flash forward and an epilogue conclusion taking place 5 years after last saturday’s strip? Whatever, I’m still going along with the ride.
Unless I’m misunderstanding some aspect of the topography, I think a little coloring error crept into panel 3 (grass on one side of her, air on the other). Not a big deal though.
Apparently the last five years have been hard on the Annex One robot. It appears to be missing it’s left arm, and I don’t think that was from A-Sig assault.
The event they’ve been waiting five years for, and that’s what they’re doing right here for. Is it old Annex One, or the saucer’s last run? Maybe later it will be all clear for.
Hm?
So why did Nera go all Georgia on us?
Does this mean Hitty and Mustachio are NOT aboard the saucer en route to Lovetron?
I dunno — they have Tigerlily, and Dr Lee, and (potentially) smart-mode Unity, who is known to have whipped up a perpetual-motion energy system.
I don’t think they’ve ever really needed Hitty’s fusion device, but she was convenient at the time.
But I guess we’ll see.

Time skip?
Hopefully. I count three and a half years since Annex One went for a walk.
Thank you, Robert. I wonder if that means 5 years since Annex One went walkabout or 5 years since the saucer departed for Lovetron?
All probability. It’s fifteen years (our view) since Tip talked Leo down the first time, but how much time has passed for them?
Just signed up on Zoop. Love the Jake Haller song!
I signed up but couldn’t find a PayPal option.
They… seem to have matured somewhat.
“The event you’ve been waiting five years for”. Time skip.
Don’t stand in the way of the story… literally.
Not over yet, eh? Love me some epilogue.

It’s a button on a lanyard. You press it to make things happen.
Aaah! Time skip!
I imagine this being said like Goose Girl from AG-I.
“AHH!! TIME SKIP!!!”

Reading the comments, how may of you actually missed the “FIVE YEARS” part in her text? XD
Oh. Duh. 🙂
“The Return” must refer to the saucer, with Annex One being the guest of honor!
If I was looking for a GoH at that, I’d want Dave and Helen.

It’s a temporary armpit portal. It happens to the best of us. The polite thing is to pretend not to notice.
Dunrnit! I hate those pesky armpit portals!
I mean durnit. (Can’t blame that one on autocorrect.)

I just thought the left arm had swung forward.
