Well, I was looking at a hair colour chart. Pantone colours are a little different. And curiously, the closest Pantone colour for Peirson’s hair is called Green Sulphur, although Harvest Gold is also pretty close. Interesting choices, considering their plant-based hostess.
Sorry… you gave me a rabbit hole. I had to go down.
Probably the first time shown where someone having just entered a full on “I’ll show them! I’ll SHOW THEM ALL!” fugue state would actually be the less frightening option.
Yeah, that was my first thought as well. He does look a bit like he’s moved beyond drinking and into some of the harder stuff. If true, you can hardly blame him.
Tip is dressed in a layered purple-over-lavender
that looks nice but seems overly detailed to draw.
I predict that the under layer is knitted
and bears the familiar message.
These clones are really good replacements,
good enough to fool themselves.
I could be wrong, but it looks to me like one of those tops that is designed to look layered, but is actually a single piece of clothing. You get the layered look without the bulk of multiple layers.
The real question is, what was the point of the U R Not U message since one would think that the replaced entities already know this? Was this actually meant to convey helpful information or merely a taunt directed at those who weren’t replaced? o_O
It’s quite possible that they don’t know they’re duplicates. I wake up every morning with memories of being Derin for 30 years and never suspect I’m a copy.
That’s a fair point. But what good would finding that out really do anyone? I’m quite happy to think of myself as the original me even if I would probably adjust a bit better to learning otherwise than most would. @_@
Yeah, I mean, seriously, before it did *this* it was much more convincing than the hamster doppelganger (quite unnecessarily so, given that in a world with universal weirdness censorship it would either fool everyone or be invisible).
Tip is wearing something under his shirt, but I think that’s just lettering and not a clone sweater because he wouldn’t be confronted by clone Philips if he was also a clone
HOLY FUCK SHAENON THAT’S CREEPY
Seconded!
I think this might be the creepiest thing she’s ever drawn.
What about ‘i want to know your skin from both sides’?
For me it’s so far into creepy that it loops back around to hilarious.
rhut rho!
So, has pod Phillips exceeded his ethanol limit? Or is he receiving instructions from the Mother Plant?
Could be both.
Thanks, another point to plot on the Silliness Scatter Plot.
Oh great, we got plant duplicates. Or something.
I was assuming time travel (or displacement really) but… I guess not.
oh and the red headed beardy dude is a dupe too, he also got a sweater!
sorry, brown hair!
I probably would have said red too, but since you mentioned it, I looked up a colour chart, and it’s closer to a “honey ginger”.
But what’s the Pantone code for Honey Ginger?

Masquerade drop.

Getting inside Tip’s personal space? Back off, fake Phillips!
WOW, does he ever look stoned…..
Well, not yet… but hit him with enough bricks and he will. And you might want to do it soon.

I’m inclined to think Tip is our Tip, chiefly because
1) I believe the doppelgangers are the Cypress, and
2) I don’t believe the Cypress could be using Tip’s earpiece to talk to Sweetheart.
These are circumstantially supported by the fact that Tip isn’t wearing the very obvious, clearly-intended-to-be-seen sweater.
Open to being proven wrong, especially on the second point, but right now I think this is our Tip.

Until right now…

Last Thursdayism ( https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Last_Thursdayism ) is a pain, isn’t it? Or at least it has been since last Thursday.
How do we know this is the double and not the other one?
Because they’re conveniently labeled. Thanks sweater ninja!
By the way, Phillips of Carbondale seems to be wearing the traditional Phillips Hawaiian flowered shirt today under his sweater.
But URNotU-Phillips was much more eyeball-focused and coherent a few pages ago. ??
Hamsters. Its full of hamsters.
Oh come on, how that happen? Again.

I think it’s just a pattern, not lettering, since his sleeve has similar markings.
