It wasn’t actually a manifesto, it was an order for Chinese food. And as we all know, ordering Chinese food entirely through interpretive dance is just asking for trouble.
Wait a minute. If GODOT really made the engineers perceive a Chinese takeout menu as an evil plan manifesto, why is it not using the same trick on Sweetheart and Unity right now?
Maybe it’s letting them figure things out so as to mock them, or maybe it really is a manifesto of Violet’s evil plan and GODOT is making them see a menu instead.
Not at all. Both are required for a properly balanced plate. The crunchy texture of a well-made egg roll is as a shatteringly crisp yang to the potsticker’s yielding yin.
Hmm, I’m reminded that around Boston “potstickers” are called “Peking Ravoli.” Which, umm, has nothing to do with anything beyond indicating that Violet (or GODOT, messing with everybody) isn’t from Boston.
Or “Confucius say…” in a bad Chinese accent. That’s always good for laughs. (Especially when the person doing it is cosplaying Shampoo from Ranma 1/2.)
No! Here’s what should be added to cause additional problems in St. Charlie. Try it yourself with some fortune cookies:
‘WITH THIS FULLY OPERATIONAL DEATH STAR’
One nice thing about this is that Shaenon doesn’t have to letter the strips. She “just” draws them, including those AWESOME backgrounds, and puts in word balloons. GODOT handles the rest, making you think you’re reading words in the strip. I didn’t even have to type this post, either – GODOT is showing it to you!
Heck of it is, the “manifesto” is probably completely true, it just doesn’t exist in the real world. Might be safer for everybody if they let “her”, or “they” or whatever, remain in the pokey.
If Violet doesn’t want GODOT messing with her manifesto, she needs to communicate it through a different medium. I suggest interpretive
dance.

Good thing it wasn’t Combo No 5…

Oh, I kill me…
This is a job for ANTONIO SMITH, FORENSIC LINGUIST!
We already had an Artie cameo, might as well add more.
Yes, please. We’ve been sorely lacking in DRAMATICALLY CAPITALIZED LINGUISTIC PROFESSIONALS thus far.
Potskickers are vastly superior to egg rolls. Clearly Unity is not to be trusted here.

Violet must clearly be stopped.

I’d hate to see what GODOT would do with a fortune cookie.
Add “IN BED” to the end.
Or “EXCEPT IN BED.”
I prefer “As foretold in prophecy”. Must be said with appropriate solemnity.

IN YOUR PANTS.
‘Nuff said.
Mildly special sauce! Not necessarily mild in taste, but in specialness. That’s beautiful.
Yes indeed. I presume that in a city run and inhabited by the mad and their cohorts, there’s special sauce and then there’s special sauce, y’know?
(TUNE: “Godzilla”, Blue Oyster Cult)
Well, we went and arrested Ms. Vi-o-let Bee,
‘Cause she went and threated St. Charlie-ee …
The Engineers, an hour ago,
Recieved this threatening Man-i-fes-to-o …
She’ll rule the city, she’ll be the Boss,
Using Chicken in Mildly Special Sauce!

Egg roll with our food?
No, just potsticker!
That’s rude!
Has this print been skewed?
Don’t want potsticker!

Clearly, GODOT has been messing with these comments for a VERY LONG TIME.

Violet did tell GODOT she was going to take over the city, so the Chinese menu might actually be the fake words.
Does this mean that Skin Horse wins by default?
They could also be in a shielded area… they must have made some provision for rowdy broadcasters.
You put the brig near the engine? Now that’s just asking for trouble.
