I still think it would be amusing if Ira turned out to be Mr. Green. Then again, I also think it would be amusing if he’s still collecting government pay for his original job because they never bothered to cancel his job even after closing down the building. ^_^
If you assume that Ira hasn’t been paid in months or even years (how long has it been in comic internal time since Skin Horse shut down?), it starts getting eerie. Does Ira need to eat? Does he sleep? When Tigerlily finishes a hard day of funky mad science, does he have a home to go to, or does he just sit in the dark – waiting?
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, sweet irony. Thou art a cruel, cruel mistress indeed. (this comment written from several months in the future — don’t mind me if you’re just passing by on your way through the archives!)
Oh, man, what I wouldn’t give to have Tigerlily Jones in the Senate…
Better idea–Tigerlily for President! Instead of “Make America Great” (for the filthy rich), she’d “Make America GROOVY!” ^_^
What the hay, we *could* use a reroll on some of those decades.

It frightens me how possible that latter scenario actually is.
Or he might be something like Charles Stross’ “Residual Human Resources”. (Don’t call them the Z-word, Personnel thinks it’s insensitive.)
Seeing the Senator reassures Ira that it’s still the 70s and he’s a strapping 40 years young.
For those not up on the lingo, a “fin” is $5, which is pretty generous for a 1970s hobo, but then those Senators are often big spenders.
Wait, how much is Ira getting paid?
Paid?

lurking.
Should’ve gone high as a sawbuck.
But then again, $5 in the 1970s is about equal to a sawbuck today.
According to the CPI inflation calculator [1], $5 in 1976 had the buying power of $22.19 today.

I’ll buy that. I’ll be honest, it was only a guess.
So Tigerlily isn’t a fan of Tip’s new look. Who’d have thought?
“or season my scorn with pity…”
Senator Jones, now. Good to see she parlayed that mad scientist gig into something other than honest work.
Well, we only have Ira’s perception to go on here, and that may be a little suspect.
To be fair, he did say “something other than honest work.” So that leaves her options — and Ira’s perception — pretty much open.
