It surprises me that all the robots are so… percussive. You’d think someone would bring a gun to this knife fight … or a knife to this club fight if you will
And I still think the two look like they could be glued together and pretend to be one robot
In the absence of edduard…”Hey, Look Me Over,” Carolyn Leigh and Cy Coleman.
Hey, check my chassis!
Tremble in fear.
Strong and dynamic,
Plating up to here.
I can’t get it open,
I just don’t know.
I figure whenever I have to distract
It only goes to show.
You have an opportunity;
I know what you heard.
Don’t shake your sensor!
You must take Hitty’s word.
I’m a little bit lost in the momentum.
But you can see, you may.
So look out, guys,
I’m—off—today!
Hitty is fusion powered. An ‘opportunity’ to inspect her chassis with the outer plating removed might well present a threat to anything not specifically radiation hardened.
Believe it or not – that actually depends on what is being fused, and the method.
My (limited – I know fission better) understanding of the various ongoing fusion experiments is that certain fuel mixes (pure H2) don’t have as extreme rad hazards since no stray neutrons. Helium mix adds neutrons => activation of components and secondary radiation effects.
I don’t believe it makes a difference; when you fuse H2, you get Helium in any case. And I don’t mean as the final product, which is obvious; 3He is one of the intermediate products of the reaction.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present the Mustachio Ramshambler, the Victorian gentleman brawler, and his illustrious companion Hittie, the mechanical Mae West!
Waiiiit. How did her screw-eye switch from right to left? Normally she has one big screw-looking eye and one little eye. They changed sides in panel 2.
Okay, I tried to resist writing this, but Hitty is so much fun. To the tune of “Hey, Big Spender” by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields, from “Sweet Charity”
The minute you rolled in to fight
I could see you were a bot of distinction
A great big pounder,
Cone-shaped and well designed.
Say, wouldn’t you like a bot that’s of
The feminine kind?
So let me get right to the point
I don’t pop my hood for every bot I see
Hey, big man-bot
Take a look inside of me
Heard you like to go “Whump, whump, whump”
Come on up to my rack! Rack!
I could show you my…chassis
Fusion plant in my…chassis
I shouldn’t distract from your fight
But if you could could help me out of this plating
I’m inside waiting,
My fuel is well-refined
Say, wouldn’t you like a bot that’s of
The feminine kind?

There are ever so many reasons that shouldn’t sound so dirty…
I love these two more and more every strip! Can we keep her?
I know! She’s the robot Dr Lee!
I hope they don’t have to fight eachother
I like her feminine wiles expression in panel 2.
Dang, when people assign genders to their robots, they don’t take half measures!
She’s a stone-cold-rolled fox, you dig?
He got his eye back! I was digging the eye patch

Two? This ends when all the remaining robots figure out they can get out together if they go Voltron.
Mwahahahaha…..
‘And so you…stole all their powers?’
‘With the power of DIPLOMACY!’

Threat? I thought that was a bribe. Or something.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present the Mustachio Ramshambler, the Victorian gentleman brawler, and his illustrious companion Hittie, the mechanical Mae West!
Heaven have mercy on us all.

I’m not at all sure that Hitty KNOWS the difference between a threat and a promise…or that she cares.
Nice filk, Robert
