For deranged criminal masterminds bent on world domination, they offer a surprisingly minion-friendly workplace. Hardly any employees abruptly reassigned to somewhere very far away under mysterious circumstances at all. Not today, anyway.
interesting and kinda makes sense from a superhero perspective. Hmmm… the fact that it makes sense , however, makes me look for another answer. Perhaps he is a sea monster… or something else that is green.
Like I said the other day… we don’t know that’s Mr. Green’s car. All we know is that Jonah said it was his car, based on the fact that he “saw it in a bunch of futures”. But if Shelby is spying on A-Sig, then his car would logically show up repeatedly as well. Then they saw who they think is Mr. Green approaching, so they hid in the trunk. But we don’t know if it was Mr. Green they saw, and we don’t know that he got into that car.
Are Jonah and Nera smart? Sure. Well… Nera’s smart. Jonah’s “gifted”. But they’re still just kids, and they’re inexperienced, so they’re gonna make mistakes. For example, getting themselves locked in — and then falling out of — the trunk of a flying car comes to mind.
Someone noted a while ago that among the major Oz colors so far, most of which have shown up in Mr. Green’s aliases (Ao = blue, Goldbug = yellow, Violet = purple, and of course green) the only Oz color missing was red.
There’s only one ‘Red’ who’s shown up so far, and he *is* connected with AG-I, so lately I’ve been wondering – is Red Knight perhaps actually another of Mr. Green’s identities, and not as dumb as he acts?
Oh, I really hope you’re wrong. Red Knight embodied just about every quality you never want to see in your boss. Even if it was just a facade, I hope they left him tied to that tree. Something for the Cobras to go out and bite when they get bored.
Between the Red Knight and Mr. Green, I think I’d unwillingly have to pick the Red Knight for my boss. True, he is a dick and is apt to laser you for fun (and definitely sexually harass), but Mr. Green is apt to just kill you.
Yeah, but if Virginia hadn’t been wearing the superhero armor, Red Knight’s laser blast would have killed her. So Red Knight is a dick and he will sexually harass you and he will kill you for no reason. Mr. Green will only kill you, and only if he has a reason. Advantage: Mr. Green.
This occurred to me as well, but my feelings are mixed. It all seems rather contrived, if it is the case. That said, I can’t discount Violet Bee’s behavior toward Virginia in St. Charlie’s…
Didn’t we see a guy who looked a *lot* like Dr. Ao as Panoptica’s sidekick in the “everything is horrible for Sweetheart” brief storyline? http://skin-horse.com/comic/seized-his/ is the comic I’m referring to.
The hair is slightly different, but they do both appear to be Asian.
Highly doubtful, however, that Dr. Ao would have posed as an AG-I agent coming to SH for a meeting with Sweetheart, considering Sweetheart would almost certainly recognize him even with the mask. So while they may look similar, it’s unlikely that they’re the same person.
Of course, there’s also the strong likelihood that Mr. Green actually looks nothing like Dr. Ao. Sweetheart met him in VR, so he could appear any way he wanted to. I would be quite out of character for him to actually present his real face to her.
Wait, does Nick mean that Google hired Electron Boy out from AG-I, or that Electron Boy was killed in an attack by the mad scientists working at Google?
Given that they’ve just encountered a sea monster, and Shelby said it was his reason for being there, I’m kind of disappointed that Nera can’t figure this out with deductive reasoning. I suppose she could have got as far as “They’re here because of the sea monster” and be hoping for more detail.
Potential commentary on the Equifax hacks this summer?
Not only did they fail to install a major patch, their cheif security director never bothered changing the login from Admin1.
I can guess his luggage combination. Hint: Spaceballs…
Oh, like Nick couldn’t hack in even without his old login.
Well, of course he could. That’s why he can professionally comment on their security.
To be fair to Electron Boy, working for google is three times less likely to lead to evisceration than superheroing.
Sorta like Skin Horse in re Plasma Adam and Agent Blue.

To be clear, you’re talking about Google?
That is, Google are the deranged criminal masterminds bent on world domination.
Aren’t they?
Reminds me of Dave pondering the virtues of signing on with Microsoft rather than with Narbonic Labs back in the very early days of Narbonic. ^_^
I just realized something that should have been fairly obvious: Mr. Green (seemingly) has an AG-I alter-ego, which is why Shelby was driving his car.

That was me, and I have to go with awgiedawgie on this.

OTOH, he is wearing green…
Yup, hence my initial comment. Mr. Green seems to have his finger in every pie.

You could have something there.
I.T. issues notwithstanding, he isn’t missed much – he was a really negative guy.
No work ethic either. Sure, he’d get excited for a new project, but he’d always lose the energy in short order.
Was he an un-ionized worker?
Oh, you win all the internets for that one!
+ 1!!!1eleventy1!!!
Those are some very gooselike body movements. Especially panel 3.
“Except for network security threats” … that, or Cerebriac doesn’t consider Nick still having access to be a threat …
Didn’t Nick get a cool nickname like the other AG-I weirdos?
Nick doesn’t need a nickname. His real name means “Chopper” already, so why give him a new one?
Of couse, AG-I might have tried to give him a new name, but he would have just told them to fork themselves anyway.
Red Knight called Nick “Chopper” in the Jersey Devils storyline, so that’s probably his superhero name.
You’re the boss. I figured Red Knight called him “Chopper” instead of using his name because RK was a consummate jerk.

Well, to be fair, it was Jonah who asked what AG-I is doing there.
Although with Nera being the computer genius and hacker, I’m surprised she didn’t already know what Cerebriac was.
It’s probably going to be like three years before we get to see Goose Girl drawn with her mouth fully closed.
Could be a lot sooner if Unity knocks her out.
We did get a cool overhead shot of her in the fourth panel. That was nice.
