Except that, the indication seems to be that the reason Jonah won’t join AG-I is because they won’t hire Nera. Maybe Jonah didn’t tell Nera why he chose not to join, and Panoptica either didn’t “get it”, or chose not to disclose the content of the conversation to Shelby.
A Sunday comic a month ago ( http://skin-horse.com/comic/2017-10-22/ ) established that it it stands for Project Silvereye (quoting Shaenon: “It’s a terrible piece of periodic table/YA novel wordplay.”).
And yet, despite that revelation (and the fact that Panoptica’s uniform has always had only the letters “AG” — the chemical symbol for silver — emblazoned on a silver-coloured, eye-shaped background), some long-time readers still write it in their comments as “AG-1” instead of “AG-I“.
Thanks for asking I was wondering too…
I was beginning to think it could be a wordplay on german Ich-AGs (yeah, unemployed-unfriendly concept from hartz laws, “ich” beeing the german for “I” in “I am”…)…
Well, practicality and clearheadedness aren’t exactly common, are they? Nera’s got the rare ability to actually *see* things from multiple viewpoints; it makes precog seem almost wimpy.
…..man, they have GOT to have kids. And then their kids need to meet Dave and Helen’s daughter; ooh.
To save anyone from checking, her costume is basically a unitard, boots, gloves, a mask and hair dye. If you could see her underwear, it would have been visible in http://skin-horse.com/comic/wont-be/
Just because we hardly get to see her when she’s not “flying a desk” doesn’t mean that that’s her only duty as a member of AG-I. This is only the second storyline that has been focused on AG-I more than SH (really only the first, since “Can’t Catch Me” was more about SH’s trip to the safehouse than it was Nick’s and Red Knight’s AG-I evaluation), so we really haven’t seen that much of her. She is, after all, telepathic — and as she pointed out on Thursday, AG-I’s only psychic — so there are undoubtedly missions where her skills are uniquely valuable.
Shelby, there are *reasons* Brainiac 5 was considered a valuable member of the Legion. The mutant power of common sense is a good one. ^_^
Oh no! Not the MONKEY-FLOUTING theme-song!
AG-I, AG-I
Jonah Yu says they’re gonna die…
Here’s my take on it …
Sometimes I wish I had my own recording studio, so I could put out some of my parodies on YouTube, too. Karaoke versions just don’t cut it.
I actually presumed Nera’s question in panel 4 was directly inspired by this. It’s more fun now if you try to imagine Goose Girl singing it.
I give Nera bonus points for the third panel. That’s pure genius.
+1
Hey, it’s a reasonable point, and even Shelby didn’t really have an answer for that.

Can someone tell me what AG-I stands for?
Then I would know whether it’s AG-EYE or AG-ROMAN NUMERAL ONE.

A most foreboding future for AG-I team, their movies will all be directed by Zack Snyder and Joel Schumacher.
Or, worse, *co*-directed by them…
Good gravy!
The only way it could be worse than that is to throw in Uwe Bowl (can’t be bothered to spell that right).
I mean… it doesn’t bode well for the team should they successfully convince Jonah to join
Them successfully recruiting him might be their downfall, rather than it being inevitable
He could undermine it from within.
AG-I just isn’t the team Jonah Yu wants to join with.
You can just hear the gears grinding in Shelby’s head in panel 4, can’t you? Unexpected wisdom has a way of causing cognitive dissonance.

Why does Panoptica need a mask if she’s basically just flying a desk? Who’s going to recognize her?
She’s a superhero. Superheroes wear masks. You might as well suggest she wear her underwear inside her suit.
