I had a college professor who used Bing to reach the Google homepage, from which she searched for a YouTube video. The same video she liked to show every time she taught that class. Said video was a PowerPoint presentation in slideshow mode. It was a surreal experience.
I was about to say that I cut out the middle man, but tthen I realized I actively include one by using StartPage. At least they prevent Google from tracking my metadata or recording my searches. (Google results w/o the privacy invasion.)
I don’t know…If we accept that A-sig is based on evil, then, since Sweetheart has seen the truth, perhaps resigning could be construed as the act a of a good girl. Just as she rejected the evil agenda of her creator. When she went to work for Skin Horse, she thought she was doing good.
I would assert that, in spite of her personality faults, Sweetheart has consistently chosen doing good over doing evil, once the situation became clear.
Wonderful. Meanwhile, a couple of sterling characters have been left alone, one has been murdered by Greenie’s henchies. Enduring patience is NOT one of my better characteristics.
Not to worry. Dr. Lee and Gavotte are very resourceful. As for Nick, I recon he’s either taken over the walnut VR or sitting on Mr. Green’s desk as a trophy / audience
awgiedawgie: On the other hand, spell checkers don’t change what you’ve written unless you ask them to (or, at least, you haven’t selected an option not to replace stuff on its own initiative). They’re not like certain search engines, which automatically assume that they know what you want better than you do.
On my phone, the options are in the keyboard settings menu (which isn’t with the other settings for some reason or other). I could just be lucky, though.
“[…] Sweetheart has consistently chosen doing good over doing evil […]”
But I think “good dog” and “bad dog” get used more often to reflect _obedience_ or not, rather than moral judgement. So we might say Sweetheart is being a very good bad-dog.
BTW, this week’s episode of _Escape_Pod_ is _awesome_!
Yup, it’s still going strong. I didn’t even know it existed, until a bandmate sold them a story (“An Equal Share of the Bone”) a year or so ago, and I started listening then.
Well, no matter what, you have to maintain a sense of bureaucracy about the situation.
Maybe a set of written reports to be reviewed later, kept somewhere near the A1 Funkatron’s core. (Not too close, they don’t want the reports irradiated.) (Okay, Chris and Marcie might, but nobody else.)
Sweetheart: Oooh, lightbulb moment! Let’s go find Tigerlily.
[Tigerlily is with Marcie]
Sweetheart: Dr. Jones, do you remember Dr. Englebright?
Tigerlily: Do I! That woman was like the purified essence of the Man!
Sweetheart: Well, it occurred to me that she’s probably still at the Maragda building, consolidating her takeover. Just in case you were interested in making sure that her car was treated gently.
Tigerlily: On the one hand, I am not sure I like detouring for petty revenge. On the other, there’s something about Englebright that makes me really, really want petty revenge…
Marcie: Hey, what happened to not caring who was in charge?
Sweetheart: I was never really in charge, because Anasigma was always pulling the strings.
Sweetheart: Besides, this isn’t about being in charge. It’s about being on top.
Unity: Babe, I just love your I’m-totes-not-wagging tail wag.
YES. YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY DO THAT, UNITY.
And here’s some mood music while you do it! ^_^

WE’VE FOUND SOMEONE WHO USES BING! ALERT MICROSOFT!
😉

Please tell me it was not a course on any sort of technology.
Yeesh!
I was about to say that I cut out the middle man, but tthen I realized I actively include one by using StartPage. At least they prevent Google from tracking my metadata or recording my searches. (Google results w/o the privacy invasion.)
Did she also text you to call her back so she could say you needed to check your mail for the letter informing you she sent you a fax?
Got into a heated argument with an idiot once over not even using ‘Google’ as a verb, let alone use it as a search engine 😛
let Hitty hammer out the resignation details.
Yes Sweetheart your latest move has cemented your status as a “bad dog”.
The only problem I see with them going on the offensive is that they have equipped block …

Man. The public sector is complicated.
Truth.^
This is slightly more complicated then I’m used to.
But I work in the tech part so maybe it’s different in the shadow government branch.
I assumed that was the plan, Unity.

Reckon I can’t blame spellcheck for THAT! 🙂
Sure you can. I’ve seen spellcheck replace a perfectly spelled word with what it thinks I meant.

In a word processor like Microsoft Word, that’s true. But when I type on my phone, it seems to have a mind of its own.
On my phone, the options are in the keyboard settings menu (which isn’t with the other settings for some reason or other). I could just be lucky, though.
I suspect one form a “Take This Job And Shove It!”-style resignation might take is in the violent rescue of the sterling characters in question. ^_^

Escape Pod is still going?
Yup, it’s still going strong. I didn’t even know it existed, until a bandmate sold them a story (“An Equal Share of the Bone”) a year or so ago, and I started listening then.
Thank you!
I liked “Red Kelly Owns the Moon” too, but I love “Beatrix Released”. 🙂
Sweetheart’s probably more worried about who will they debrief to now

And absolutely no mention of the the crimson permanent assurance! Are Python fans now gone and forgotten?
Better version. Still not what I wanted.

And you thought Narbonics and Skin Horse were playing with your view of reality…
a longer version, with the bloody battle. Trigger warning: deaths.
[but still doesn’t show the beginning]
Well, pooh. It didn’t insert properly. So: copy and remove the spaces to get the link.

1:32 was the precise moment I became a Monty Python fan for life.
Heh, thought it was ole Max Headroom who defenestrated himself 😀
Perhaps my favorite Python song, along with the Philosophy song and Decomposing Composers.
