Mostly the latter, but if you give Tip a minute, he’ll amend his comment to mean the former too.
And I sincerely doubt he traded /*all*/ of his wardrobe. Tip strikes me as the kind of prepper who keeps caches of necessary supplies scattered about for emergencies: evening gowns, spare heels, purses, accessories, y’know: the basics.
Nick being unaffected gives us at least some important information about what’s going on, as unlike Tip, he’s effectively wholly human, even if he’s just a brain in a nutrient tank.
Nick has a sealed biological system, so if we’re dealing with some sort of biological agent, he’d quite naturally be unaffected by it.
Of course, the fact that the reality blindness had such a rapid and universal onset does suggest it probably wasn’t a biological agent – unless it was a finely tuned custom engineered virus which laid dormant, and became active at some particular preprogrammed time or in response to some trigger mechanism that could be applied over large areas all at once.
What else might we be dealing with? Psionics, perhaps? Have we seen any telepaths in Skin Horse? I can’t quite recall. Perhaps some “mind control ray” effect, emanating from cell towers or beaming down from satellites in space? I don’t think Nick has any kind of shielding which would protect him such a thing, unless his brain tank is particularly well insulated somehow.
Alternately, could it be that Nick doesn’t possess any particular immunity to whatever this is, but rather that the effect can actually be finely controlled, and whoever is behind it purposefully chose NOT to target and affect Nick?
1) He recognizes and remembers UNITY, where presumably he’d have forgotten who she is if he was affected. (Even if he perceived her as human, unlike the hotel clerk with H.T. and Sweetheart, all of his memories of interacting with her are based in his life as a helicopter.)
2) She presumably told him about the situation, and he didn’t ask questions like “Huh? What are you talking about?”
3) She presumably asked him to fly out to meet the team from a sizeable distance away, and he didn’t ask questions like “Do you have any idea how expensive a plane ticket is if you don’t book in advance?” or “What airport should I fly in to, and should I rent a car when I get there?”
Personally I hold to the theory that Tip in male clothes is the whole reason for this. While he was dressed all Femme, his Mojo directly conflicted with reality blindness; If you were reality blind you wouldn’t be able to see how HOT he was. Now that he’s gone all cishet on us, the whole bubble is collapsing. Tremonito, was this your plan all along?
Nah, I’m still not seeing what’s so hot about Tip. Maybe it’s ’cause I’m seeing him as a badly-drawn cartoon, but, then, why should he be different from anybody else I see that way?
Yeah, I’ve never really seen Tip as hot, either. I enjoy the character from a comic perspective based on his effect on other characters, but, personally, I don’t really see it. I just suspend my disbelief because I generally enjoy the comic. My favorite character is still Unity, and, although I know he was a minor supporting character, I thought Remy was adorable.
We’re beeing told he’s hot by all who observe him directly. So obviously he’s hot. That our percerption of tip is filtered by the medium of illustration does not alter his hotness.
As much as the loss of those clothes may sting, Tip gets to rebuild his lady-wardrobe from scratch. There’s got to be something a little fun about that.
Is he referring to how fierce he looked in the suit he’s currently in or his feminine apparel?
Mostly the latter, but if you give Tip a minute, he’ll amend his comment to mean the former too.

wow he was seriously dedicated to preventing tip from going back to the lady dresses

Curioser and curioser…
There are telepaths yes. One on Nick’s superteam in fact.
Now, now, careful there – “he SOUNDS the same”. That’s not the same as “unaffected”. I expect a hella punchline when he actually shows up…
That’s reaching a bit.

For all we know, the reality blindness could be a local phenomenon. Possibly even to do with the Groovitron.
Unity said the phenomenon is going nationwide http://skin-horse.com/comic/out-in-kansas/
I wonder if it’ll go international too?
Called it.
Tremontino will remember.
I wonder if Tip still has his superpower.
Also, I like the term ‘man-drag.’
Tip. Truly the Hero With a Thousand Faces. Thank you Joe Campbell.
Thumbs up!

I like it!
TREMONITO: [strokes goatee] Your mistake, Dr Wilkin, was to forget that through the act of perception, we create the World….

Charisma
Raw innate charisma
It’s not entirely wrapped up in physical appearance
Rude! He’s not badly drawn, he’s stylized.

I have a tailored suit substantially similar to that from Abu Dhabi. I even have a tie of that color. I did not purchase the matching pocket kerchief.
