Just look at The Doctor’s and River Song’s last date on Darillium. Unity and Sweetheart got nuthin’ on that! Then again, they don’t have a TARDIS. Fortunately.
You know you didn’t update on GoComics again?—but then, a lotta comics on GoComics didn’t update this morning, either, though yours (and some of theirs) showed up in my GoComics email. Somebody’s asleep at the switch there.
Definitely. It’s fixed now. But you guys, the creators, are closer to the top of the food chain than us customers and users. If you complain, there’s a slightly greater chance they’ll do something.
It was definitely on their end today. I don’t know what time they finally updated, but when I checked around 8AM Eastern, NONE of the comics had updated to today.
Frankly, I suspect it’s on their end every other day as well, simply because their new site format blows. Instead of using an established and trusted comments system, like WordPress or Disqus, they just had to implement their own creation — which was really not ready for roll-out. They’ve finally just gotten to where they can notify people on their site when someone likes or replies to a comment. And that comes just shortly after finally making it so people can like comments. Still no email notifications yet, though. And sometimes a notification for a reply doesn’t show up for 2 or 3 days after the fact. So I still have to go back to my profile and look at my comment history and go to each comic to check if someone has replied to me. And of course, you can only see the ten most recent comments in your history. I suggested over a year ago that they make the history go back farther than that, which they of course said was a great idea… but still nothing. Then, of course, there’s the updating issues. Skin Horse is only one of 3 or 4 in my collection of comics that will occasionally go anywhere from a day up to a week or more without showing any new strips. Some of them, the problem might be on the uploading side, because the back strips sometimes never do show up. But considering the slipshod nature of the rest of their development, I suspect it’s actually on the receiving end — like they get uploaded, but then the file mysteriously disappears. Others, it’s like the comics are indeed there, but they’re stranded somewhere in their servers until someone looks for them and then *poof* they magically appear for all their missing dates.
At least for Skin Horse, I can come here and read it. In fact, I can almost always see it here right after midnight, whereas GoComics doesn’t update until around 1:15AM.
I usually browse with NoScript active, and yeah – goComics got flaky a few days ago, showing borders but no content. Until I told NoScript to put gocomics.com into Temp Trusted for a session. Guessing they revamped their back end with even more scripting cr*p – which lessens my opinion of them a couple more notches.
As the sun sinks slowly into the west, our heroes go forth to reap the rewards of heroism and paperwork, confident that they will be there the next time a sapient requires help from an unseeing world. They – are – Skin – Horse!!! (musical sting)
Didn’t they establish when they got Nick that the rule is that they have to be able to identify themselves as nonhuman sapients? I don’t think Rhodey can do that. It only says, “Hrugh.”
I’m almost afraid of where this will lead.
Filing by candlelight…
Okay, that’s awesome enough that I want to see Shaenon do it.
*sings*
Filing papers by moonlight
Winning love by daylight
Never running from a real fight . . .
😀
I’m pretty sure that’s against fire code regulations
Just make sure you and Unity are clocked in and getting paid when you fill the paperwork out, Captain Fancy.
Sweetheart and Ultra Magnus should date.
Hooray! The ship has launched!
So, their first date is gonna last for days? Impressive!

Yeah. I’m reminded once again of Mell…
Dangit… it deleted the image.

So very cute.

Troubling. I watched the upload go through. Perhaps it’s on their end, as you say?

Okay… Rant over.
Took me about a year after it turned up on GoComics before I even *thought* of coming to Skin-Horse-dot-com.
