Well, we’re here … at last,
To see GODOT!
When we get … a blast
Of au-di-o!
We are now … quite near,
There’s not a thing to fear!
So kindly lend … an ear,
‘Cause I can’t hear you!
All words, up … to now,
Were written out!
So I don’t … know how
This thing can shout!
Such a fear-some noise!
My eardrums it destroys!
But I must keep … my poise,
Though I can’t hear you!
We made it through,
This thing knew what we were plannin’ …
What will we do
’Gainst an auditory cannon?
Now my ears … are sore,
They bleed like hell!
From a hun-dred for-
-Ty decibels!
There’s a blast … of sound
That echoes all around!
You’ll have to write … things down,
‘Cause I can’t hear you!
So is Unity looking at her own blood, Tip’s, or Sweetheart’s? Whose eardrum shattered? I must know! I guess we also learned that Godot can affect senses other than sight today.
Actually, the original text goes at length about how sometimes it is necessary to endure or actually pursue pain to achieve greater happiness or avoid greater pain.
Just before the final boss, huh? Time to heal the party, make sure you have the right equipment, and figure out which of your ultimate, single-use items you are willing to use. Oh, who am I kidding, you might need those items later!
And as I read this strip, I happen to be listening to a final boss theme in Latin (Yes, of course it’s “One Winged Angel”). Go figure.
To the tune of “Give Me Something to Sing About” (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, “Once More With Feeling”):
He’s GODOT
And all he has is speech.
So we’re out of his reach.
Unless he starts to screech.
It’s so loud
One-forty decibels.
It’s coming from the walls.
And melting our eyeballs.
So much noise,
It hurts.
So GODOT’S
a git.
Bleeding from
The ears.
Lorem ip-
Some time.
So loud.
No way.
To reach out of his room,
He’ll make a massive “boom”.
He’s just got words…
He’s just got words.
But they’ll be something to scream about (Aaah-augh!)
He’ll make something to scream about!
He’s a ‘bot
For making acronyms.
And when he has his whims,
Team Skin Horse won’t lose limbs.
Still, my friends and I find our ears bleeding.
The decibels we’re meeting
Are one hundred and two score.
All the sound,
He sings.
Sic Dolor,
And things.
Quoting type
Testing.
It’s so loud,
It stings.
Well, it might end,
Before he lets us go.
And if he makes Beni blow.
Or we’re deafened,
Our brains might blend.
There’s only pain.
No fear, just sound,
His speakers did pound
On our ears.
So that’s what I’m say’n,
I live in Hell
‘Cause sound was expelled
From GODOT.
Because he sang out solo.
So, give me earplugs to screen him out.
Please,
Give me earplugs…
Sweetheart’s face on the third pannel is just SO adorable XD
You’re absolutely right, past-me.
Both of you are SO right~
Wow! Actual evidence of time travel!
Wow, Godot must have meant to be really patronising to shout Loren Ipsum at them.

*Sigh* “Lorem” I think Lauren Ipsum was a webcomic character (Irregular Webcomic? Legostar Galactica? I forget) a while back.
Yes, she was in Irregular Webcomic(http://www.irregularwebcomic.net/1192.html), and this bit of nonsense text (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum) is where David Morgan-Mar got her name came from.
So is Unity looking at her own blood, Tip’s, or Sweetheart’s? Whose eardrum shattered? I must know! I guess we also learned that Godot can affect senses other than sight today.
Really, now. Godot did use the intercom system before – this time just cranked it to eleven (twelve?), I suppose…
Induced pariedola wouldn’t burst eardrums, so that’s gotta be loudspeakers.
…Why am reading the Lorem Ipsum with a heavy metal rock background?
Dolorem ipsum indeed. 😉

Heh, the actual meaning to the passage is actually kind of relevant in this case.

And don’t forget to save your game.

The reactor on St. Charlie is Victor, not Beni! 0/10 filk, would not read again.
That is about the pain threshold, yes. Get it over 200 decibels and it can potentially kill! Fun stuff.
If it’s in their heads why do their ears bleed?
As someone else pointed out above, GODOT had used the city’s PA system previously. So it is obviously doing it again.
