Gavotte enjoyed making Tip uncomfortable from my observations. The only person she genuinely liked and set aside time for was Moustashio. I’m not quite sure how he’d be able to help in this case though.
I notice the mayor’s shawl shares the same floral pattern as Madame Delphi’s scarf and Melanie’s shirt. Could they need to all gather in Mrs. Apis’ garden for a honeyed tea party?
That . . . might actually work. If the Mayor interacts with the other ladies of the town, she might see how much they need her and how well they all work together, and then start giving orders again, reforming the gestalt.
Which blows any Cronenberg theories I had out of the water, but this is much better for a webcomic.
I really LOVE this strip. It is a work of very great art and intelligence, and my discomfiture at go-comics’ refusal to run it on the weekend leads me to contemplate methods of making
the snooty and uncaring administration of g-c VERY uncomfortable should opportunity present. I may be able to remember a few. Perhaps in Hell I can instruct them.
Nooo, don’t bother GoComics! It’s my decision to not run the weekend features there. They’re of varying sizes and formats, which doesn’t fit GoComics’s model.
I still am peeve against GoComics: They banned me for life because I repeated a quote far down a comment string in a political dialogue back to the writer (it wasn’t polite), and this after years of participating in their system. I suspect it was because someone didn’t like my views. Anyway. if they’re good to you, that’s a plus.
My biggest gripe with them is about their whole comment/notifications system. Instead of implementing something that was tried and true (like wordpress, for example), they just had to go and create their own system. I’ve received notifications that someone has replied to me — after I had already directly replied to their reply. I’ve received notifications FOUR TIMES OVER for the same reply. And then there have been replies that I never received any notification at all. And after having this new “system” for what, two years? (maybe it just seems that long), they still haven’t fixed anything. Just last week, I got three separate notifications — over the course of two days — for the same reply. And with all that, they still don’t notify you of replies via email at all.
It’s Therapy Puppet time again…
I dunno.. It’s sounds to me as though what Mayor Queen really needs is a hug and assurance that she really is loved by the rest of the swarm. ^_^
See if she’ll take a bribe, Dr. Lee. All the walnuts anyone would ever want.
Doesn’t Gavotte like Tip? How about offering a date with him as a bribe?
I don’t recall Gavotte having any sort of romantic interest in anyone, as far as we’ve seen.
Also, Tip actually doesn’t really like Gavotte, as he is deathly allergic to bees. He doesn’t seem to DISLIKE her, but he still doesn’t like her…
Gavotte was among the enthusuastic lady spectators of the mudfight.
Maybe not a *romantic* interest (the swarm, as has been noted, takes care of such matters itself) but not disinterested.
Actually I meant Mayor Queen was probably a corrupt public official.

I dunno… this is Shaenon’s world. Interacting might bring out the lirpas and ahn woons…

The only day gocomics doesn’t run it is on Sunday, and that may well be Shaenon’s choice, not theirs.
I could think of a few other things that they need berating for, should you get the chance.

GoComics is good people.
