Given what we know of S & J, there are dozens, nay, hundreds of visual and verbal references sprinkled throughout this tale. This just happens to be one of the less subtle ones.
And over in a nearby Gas-Lamp Fantasy, we have a Zeppelin and a Mecha-Serpent. Coincidence? I Think Not!
