She would probably love to schlrop her own brain, but she could probably also just build a drone for herself. It might take some practice for her to learn to run the drone well while boinking, but Dr. Lee is both very intelligent, and very competent, so I’m sure she could get the the hang of it quickly.
I’m not surprised that Nick can fly without his “meat peripheral” in the cockpit; I am a little surprised that his transceiver isn’t daunted by the distance between his brain in Boston and his body (eventually) in Carbondale. Well, not surprised exactly, just… feel like it should be a slightly bigger deal, establishing the range. Does the transceiver have a range of “anywhere on Earth”?
Thanks to communication satellites, range is pretty much everywhere. Though there could be speed-of-light delay issues (round trip to geostationary orbit is ~0.3 sec). Fortunately, Virginia equipped Nick with thiotimoline negative-delay buffers.
It is entirely possible that the transceiver has a limited range and Nick just hasn’t considered it yet. He might need to fly both bodies to within range of Carbondale before exiting the cockpit.
Since we’re talking Mad Science here there may be no need for any kind of extra gear if the commo is by way of particle entanglement.
By the rules of particle physics the entangled particles are effectively in different/same place(s) at the same time with something happening to one particle happening to the other regardless. This may (or may not) extend even to the disregard of the speed of light.
I’ve been adding to my personal copy of the filename story a day at a time for several months, but that is just on my own computer, not online anywhere. When the online ones update I notice variation in the punctuation & paragraph breaks between copies.
Nick and Virginia, I realize you’re both making up for lost time (not to mention just plain having fun), but do try to exercise a bit of responsibility here.
Nicely played. Giving me flashbacks, real AND imaginary.
She should really get onto that. And she’d get to schlorp her own brain in the process!

Didn’t Ford Prefect do something along those lines?
I think that was Zaphod, not Ford. Ford lost his mind, not his brain.
I don’t know, Nick, can your self loathing handle Dr Lee having two bodies?
Cause St Charlie can definitely whip up a clone.
I’d sooner trust Dr. Jones and her Coke machine clone machine. After all, that’s where Nick got this body.
Ahem. Doctor Lee, specialist in making mad tech sane? This seems your wheelhouse…
Which might be part of the reason she was going with Nick. A little part, but still there nonetheless.
So Nick can fly and make out at the same time. Can he pat his head and rub his stomach?

Internet cookies for the thiotimoline.

Solid point. He might need some kind of range booster.

For anyone following along at home, I just caught my compilation of the filename story up to present, just in time for it to go on holiday break.
Happy happy, joy joy. It’s been impossible, to coin a phrase, to follow this two or three words at a time.

Mine is also up to date. I figure it’s always a good idea to have more than one copy available.

Ten Minutes!? Nick is a speedy little devil…
10 minutes for that or 10 minutes for Ginny to create an extra body o_O
Probably the first time was the best forty-five seconds of his life. Trying for a little longer.
