If you’re referring to the werewolf point: Tip was a werewolf for a bit, back in Big Bad Wolves, and there’s apparently a little lingering werewolf in him (also saved him from a sonic weapon in The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day that took out basically all other humans).
If you mean Jonah, we haven’t seen him in a while, but he was first introduced in Choose, and he’s popped up once or twice since if I remember rightly. He’s petty weird but not Mad (probably).
Well, this *is* a pleasant surprise. Mind you, I wasn’t happy with their portrayal in Grillo Parlante, but the circumstances there were less than ideal.
Nobody introduce Jonah to Rocky from Lackadaisy ( http://www.lackadaisycats.com/exhibit.php?exhibitid=359 ). I’m worried they’d get on like a house on fire. Possibly several houses before the fire department could arrive.
Jonah apparently had another flash-forward and knew to protect his brain from the Crown using metal to block the signal. I have no idea why he has mayonnaise jars. The Authors could devote another arc to just that.
This also suggests that other members of the tinfoil hat crowd would also be unaffected, which is not going to help anybody’s case.
Very happy to see them – they’ll swoop in (with Nick, oh please?) and try to help. I’m fond of them because I happened across this strip for the first time while Jonah was reappearing for the shoe-shining tutorials. It was not a little confusing. So I had to read the whole thing, and the rest, for me, is history.
if this is a reference or callback it’s gone over my head.

pretty weird
Weren’t people theorizing about Goldbug being a version of him from the future or something at some point?
He’s from the Choose storyline.
I WANT YUUUU
SHOW ME THE WAAAAY
Yu win the Internet today. 🙂
Yu gotta be kidding! All you hafta do is unclench your fists, man.
Also, Matt, Yu was introduced in ‘choose’. http://skin-horse.com/comic/chapter/skin-horse/choose/
Along with Tip, they’re the exceptions to the rule!
Tip is an exception to many rules.
HAHA YES THE BEST CHARACTERS ARE BACK.
This is the correct reaction.
JONAAHHH..!!

Agreed.
Wow, I realize I’m 2-1/2 years behind on reading these, but I’m still impressed I’m not the only one who thought of that strip immediately.
exceptional != superior
Yes, but eventually he’s awesome.
Huh. Never thought Jonah would turn international hand model…
😉
YAY! Excellent hint of subtlety!
yay! I missed these two!

I suppose I’m too late to shout, “Hey, it’s Jonah Yu and Nera, back again!”
So I’ll just say…is that a colander on his head? (And do you spell “colander” with one “l” or two?)
Yay! Jonah and Nera!
Yay!!! The return of The Man Who Always Returned! And of Nera, the Voice Of Reason! (Okay, have used up all my caps for this month now, I’m done.)
If he dies this time, will we be back in that storyline again?
I’m almost completely certain that Jonah Yu is a spectacular control for Mr. Green’s awareness-bending experiments due to Reasons.

And on Yom Kippur, the day the Book of Jonah is read, Jonah Yu makes his reappearance.
Oh wicked fate! Why have you bestowed upon me these jughands?
