I’ve never heard of Palo Alto, but I’m sure it’s at least conceivable that living there is, at least in the short term, better than having your girlfriend kidnapped by someone who claims to be a homicidal maniac.
It’s suburban hell at only five times normal cost, full of tech startup employees and people who intentionally moved somewhere too expensive for their family to come visit. I like it here.
He doesn’t argue as long as it’s working. Getting through the deathtraps is working, attracting the Mad Science Momma’s personal attention really isn’t.
Pragmatism meets funky madness, I approve. Although Chris really shouldn’t accept the proposal, though. Being a nemesis can seriously complicate your schedule in the long term.
So apparently I’m just going to keep doing these until I run out of Bee Gees songs. This one wasn’t even in Saturday Night Fever (although Wikipedia says it was added to the West End adaptation).
(Tune: Tragedy by, well, see above)
Here I stand,
In a quest to bring the machine down.
Try to dance
Though in a hot tub I nearly drowned.
In the zone,
But I can’t make it all alone.
And Tigerlily’s chosen me,
Chosen me,
For enmity,
Enmity…
Nemeses!
When eternal foes keep us on our toes!
We’re nemeses!
When I’m the poor sap in her next deathtrap!
I should just go
And spend time with Marcie in Palo Alto!
…THE LIGHT EFFING DAWNS.
Gotta say, he’s got the hair to make it work.
Was it always that Fabio-long?

Never too late to learn.
Depends on your opinion of Palo Alto, I suppose.

What do you mean by ‘claims to be’? o_O
“Describes himself as”, then.
Never heard of Palo Alto? That’s where Stanford University is. It’s… cost of living is brutal.

How absurd is it? Very. There are two Apple stores about 3 miles apart.
Must be a difference between “arguing” and “complaining” in Chris’s mind…

Don’t ask how I know this.
Um, nemesis, not nemeses. At least so I think.
Its plural form, as in, “You nemeses to amaze me.”
so many nemesai, so little time (travel)
“Nemeses” is the plural of “nemesis.” Her question is in the same form as “Wanna be partners?”, except with a higher likelihood of violence.
… Although I heartily approve of casimir’s pun and will look for opportunities to use it in casual conversation henceforth.
…only if you enjoy looks of nonplus and annoyance from your friends and family.
… and that’s a zero sum game.
I have not yet comfortably understood that phrase.

The suffering Shaenon undoubtedly endured to bring us four panels of action sequence (dancing counts!) is appreciated.
Also the home of The Grateful Dead…the cost of living wasn’t bad when they were starting out, later they could afford it.
Supposed to be a reply to woozy’s comment about Palo Alto, don’t know how it ended up down here.
