Okay, I Googled “‘tapioca puddin-cat’ whimsy” and didn’t get any hits. Would someone please clue me in? Also, those ears will really complicate hat-wearing.
From the WhimsyCorp characters who are connected to the Little House and Collodi. So all meta-fictional characters. You won’t find them via Google because all the info has been covered up by the Department of Forbidden Entertainment, of course.
Oozy oozy oozy
Brand new ears are a doozy,
And on top o’ head they’re sewn!
I swear it ain’t joke-a,
Look like Tapioca,
And the ooze is my very own!
Remy just swiped ’em!
Clean, ’cause I wiped ’em!
Sewed ’em on, just like that!
Sturdy, not flimsy!
Stylin’ like Whimsy!
I’m a Puddin-Copy-Cat!
Oozy oozy oozy
Got new ears ’cause I’m choosy,
And I stuck ’em atop my head!
We got ’em from a bobcat
That we didn’t rob, that
Slob-cat was already dead!
Remy did see ’em
In a museum!
Took ’em right off the ra-a-a-ack!
Remy did boost ’em!
Now that I’ve used ’em,
Prob’ly they won’t want ’em ba-a-a-ack!
Those ears would only be functional from a hearing standpoint if they also carved out a chunk of U.N.I.T.Y.’s skull and brain to install the inner parts of the ears. Otherwise you just have two furry flaps on top that can at best be used to emote.
After all, previous experience would indicate Unity doesn’t need a complete brain – or a brain at all, really – to think. (Insert joke about “you call that thinking??”)
Not assuming, just pointing out what would be needed, but i agree that while it would be a bit complicated there’s no reason not to install entire ears. And it would certainly explain the oozing.
Less nekomimi and more nekoninny.
Necroninny π
Synchronicity! There’s an article on Necomimi in today’s Los Angeles Times.
I LIKE IT!!! Stylin’, Unity!

Thanks, I don’t know why I missed that. This Little House is getting increasingly creepy. And twee. Tweepy?
Cree.
ααΈα¨α²α₯α
For added cutesey evil, “tweepy-cree.”
Is it just me, or do those ears actually move (“poik”)?
Nice catch! I’d imagine they’d be able to move. No reason the UNITY ooze can’t animate and vivify bobcat ears.
Also, Unity has been diferent kinds of animals by now, so she should have experience on how to properly move those things.
Zombie cat-girl. I totally blame this on Randy Malholland.
Blame, or credit?
Nekro-kitty!
Hopsa, you win the Internet today!

If those ears are functional, would U.N.I.T.Y. get any bonuses from hearing things four ways instead of two?
I’ll grant a +2 competence bonus to Perception checks.

This is actually really adorable, in a weird way.
Needs whiskers.
Needs tail! And claws! π
Where’s Helen when we need her?
One of the weirdest products out there (seriously, it’s somehow controlled externally by brainwaves and it works), and also relevant to today’s strip.

The more I read this comic, the more I think it would make an awesome anime series!
